Where have I been?!
15th September 2019
Oh hey there! It’s been a while. Don’t worry, there’s no need to send out a search party. I have returned!
The last time I hit publish on a blog post was the start of April, and I actually can’t remember the last time I took such a long break from this blog. In fact, I don’t think I ever have taken such a long break from blogging.
So where the hell have I been and what have I been up to?
Well, the one thing that has been taken up the majority of the time over the past few months is my latest business venture. I’ve teamed up with my friend Cat who is the incredible designer behind Gatto, and together we have launched a pre-made WordPress theme store.
Owning a WordPress theme store has been a dream of mine for years, and I couldn’t think of anyone I would rather team up with on a project like this than Cat.
We initially started talking about launching a theme store back in November last year and then we actually began work on creating the themes at the start of this year. We officially launched it mid-August and the weeks running up to the launch were pretty crazy. I didn’t have a day off for about 4 weeks straight.
I don’t advocate the “hustle” lifestyle at all, and I don’t plan on doing a crazy launch like this again any time soon, but it was worth it and I’m so excited to see this business bloom.
In terms of the house, we had the fascia boards and guttering replaced on the house which was one of those super boring but very important jobs that had to be done. We wanted to get all the exterior work done before we carried on with the internal renovations. The next job will be to get the ceiling plastered in the living and getting the fireplace covered up after my dad ripped it out nearly a year ago. 🙈
In other news, Tyrone and I have booked a very special holiday to celebrate our 10th anniversary next month. We’re going to Los Angeles AND Las Vegas!!!
We’ve got 5 nights in LA and then we fly on to Las Vegas where we have 4 nights at a hotel I have dreamed about staying at; The Venetian!
We were actually originally planning on going on a cruise but the price was ridiculous for what it was, and before the price had a chance to come down it had sold out. I was starting to get a bit stressed out about booking a holiday so we decide to make an appointment at the Virgin Holidays store in town and see if they could help us out. I’m so glad we did because the staff were so knowledgable and managed to create the perfect package for us.
We also booked a very special, once in a lifetime experience to mark the occasion; we’re going on a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon!
In LA we’ve booked to go to Universal Studios, the Warner Brothers studio tour and the Petersen Motor Museum, including the VIP vault tour.
If you’ve been to LA or Las Vegas, please share your tips and recommendations in the comments. Also, if you have any tips for an 11-hour flight, please share those too because I’m not entirely sure how we’re going to cope!
This is definitely a once in a lifetime trip and we’re probably going to have to live on Super Noodles for the next couple of months, but it will be worth it. It’s not every day you get to celebrate your 10th anniversary!
I’m really hoping that this holiday will fill me with inspiration and I’ll get back to blogging here a bit more regularly than I currently I am! Thank you for sticking with me while I’ve been AWOL these last couple of months, but I really have missed blogging and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in again.
