What I wore in Lanzarote
19th July 2016
This is my first ever fashion/outfit post so please be kind! I was really proud of the outfits I put together for this holiday, and I felt so confident in them, so why the hell not share them on my blog?!
I’m going to share four different outfits with you that I wore on my holiday. Please excuse the all inclusive wrist band as well as the awkward poses and smiles. This doesn’t come naturally to me!
The first two outfits are very similar. They both comprise of a crop top and a pair of baggy, high waisted shorts, all from H&M.
For me, crop tops have always seemed quite daunting, but once you pair them with something high waisted on the bottom half then they don’t actually flash too much skin.
These tops (£3.99 each) have a really nice shape to them, and certainly keep you cool on a hot summers day. The baggy shorts (£7.99 each) also kept me nice and cool, and were much more practical to wear on Lanzarote than skirts and dresses because there is quite a strong breeze there; especially up in the mountains. And you know, you don’t want to go flashing your knickers.
If you are wondering why the shorts are sitting wonky on my hips, don’t worry, it’s not the shorts. It’s just the shape of my hips because of my hip dysplasia, and this is one of the reasons why I stopped wearing shorts for many years. But now I’m embracing my shape!
To create another outfit, I teamed up my white crop top with these high waisted light weight patterned trousers, also from H&M (£12.99). These trousers are so comfortable! I ended up wearing this outfit on the flight home, but I think it’s perfect for a summers day in the UK or even on a night out.
My final outfit features this play suit which I bought from Pull & Bear (I think it’s around £30) the same day as I passed my theory test.
There’s so much I love about this piece. First up, it’s fully lined, and because of the shape of the bust area you don’t need to wear bra underneath, and that’s a major thumbs up in my eyes! I also like the fact it looks like a two piece from the back, and that the straps are adjustable. It’s just such a comfortable, effortless outfit to wear.
In all of these photos I’m also wearing my New Look sandals which I bought last year and of course my trusty pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses…
…yes I said “pairs”…
…you know what that means…
…I bought another pair!
I picked up another pair of the classic wayfarers from the airport as they were VAT free and therefore slightly cheaper than usual. I’ve been wanting the tortoise shell style for a while now, but I hadn’t seen them any shops to try on. I’m really glad I didn’t order them online because I was going to buy the dark tortoise shell glasses but in person they were much darker than I was expecting. So I bought the light ones and I love them! I feel like they really compliment my hair colour.
I hope you enjoyed this post. As I say it’s something a little bit different for me but I thought I’d give it ago. Many thanks to Tyrone for taking these photos. You are a saint!
What’s your perfect summer outfit?
