Essie Nails

Hello there weekend.

Work has been good this week as I feel like I’ve properly settled in. I’ve had more training and I finally got to work on some websites. On Friday night we had a work night out which involved a treasure hunt around the city centre followed by a buffet at All Bar One.

I was a bit apprehensive about going, being the shy person that I am, but I’m so glad I went along. I got to speak to loads of lovely people. I can’t believe how friendly everyone is!

Our team came last in the treasure hunt because we decided to sit in the pub and Google the answers. Personally I think that makes us the true winners!

I woke up a lot happier this morning than I did last Saturday. I got a good, full night sleep as my neighbour has been told to keep the noise down by someone with more authority than me.

We just popped into town this morning. Unfortunately my hip is starting to cause me problems again, but it’s too soon to have another steroid injection, so I’m going to wait it out. I did, however, manage to spend some of my hard earned cash (it was pay day on Thursday) on some goodies, including this Mint Candy Apply nail polish from Essie.

I bought my first ever bottle of Essie last weekend in the colour Bikini So Teeny and I was so impressed with how long it lasted on my nails that I wanted more. This mint colour is the perfect replacement for my favourite BeautyUK nail polish which I can no longer find in stores.

I know it’s autumn but I just can’t let go of summer, hence my choice of colours.

Have a great weekend!

I hope your hip will be okay! Anyhow, you have a great weekend, yourself!

  2. Was your neighbour troubling you a lot with noises?
I hope your hip is not troubling you much now.
I like the dark blue shade of the nail paint a lot. I have been wanting to buy some good quality nail paint too, because the ones I currently have start chipping of in just a day of its application!

Yes, unfortunately. He was playing his music really loud at 12am then 6am.

If you can get Essie where you are I’d highly recommend their nail polishes. I also love OPI for quality.

  3. I’m sorry that your hip has been bothering you. My FIL gets those same injections to help with the pain and he says they work…but not for long enough. I hope you feel better! My husband is wanting to hold on to summer, but I’m ready for fall. I’m currently wearing sweats, fuzzy slippers, and a hoodie and enjoying every second, haha! Those are still great nail colors!

I feel exactly the same. It was about 2 and half months ago that I had my last injection, and my doctor said that if it didn’t last for 4 months or more I’d have to go to hospital to have it done with ultrasound guidance. But getting back from the hospital with a numb leg isn’t that simple!

I’m glad work has been going well! That’s also great that your coworkers are friendly. A good work culture is so important when it comes to being happy at work 🙂

Sorry to hear that your hip is causing problems though 🙁 I hope it’s feeling better and that the next steroid injection will help out.

Love the mint color of your nails! I hope you have a good week!

It certainly is important. I once quit a summer job early because my boss was vile and made work a horrible place to be. I only enjoyed it when it was her day off!

  5. I hope you feel better now x Sounds like you had a great time with your colleagues, that is so nice.

  6. Aw I hope your hip behaves itself soon if you can’t get another injection. I think you should have won the treasure hunt for efficiency – staying in one warm place is much better! Glad to hear you’re enjoying work so far!
I’ve never got Essie nail polish, but that looks lovely! It’s a really nice colour, like ice cream! It’s always important to treat yourself =]

I’m trying to keep up with yoga in hope that it will strengthen my hip until I can have another injection. 🙂

  7. Aw, I’m glad everyone is so friendly! At least for me, my coworkers really make the difference between whether I like my job or not, so I’m glad that you’re fitting in! Clearly, your team were the real winners. Definitely outsmarted the others.

I don’t want summer to go either. :/ Even though it’s almost October, I just don’t want to let it go because it will be far too long before it comes back again! I’m glad that you got to enjoy your weekend despite the hip pain. Hopefully it will get better for you!

I feel the same about a job. When I worked in retail I hated my job because my boss was so horrible.

Thank you! My hip seems to be back to normal now after a restful weekend.

  8. I haven’t tried the brand Essie but what with all my nail polishes getting super old and clumpy, I should buy a fresh set. I am usually open to any brands that last a while and don’t take ages to dry.

I’m glad your neighbour got told off, I hope he doesn’t bother you anymore. 🙂

I think you your team should have won because if you know how to use a search engine that should be super brownie points haha. I used to be really shy but when I worked for a really big company starting from last year, I felt like there were so many people to get to know and everyone was really friendly and helped me come out of my shell a little bit.

Go on, treat yourself! I recommend Essie and OPI, if you can get those when you are. I’m not a fan of Nails Inc which everyone else seems to love. I find that they chip easily.

Well, we are an internet company!! I’m pretty shy and doesn’t help that it’s so quiet in the office. The night out was the perfect way to get to know people, even those on my team who I hadn’t spoke to yet!
