Yoga with Adriene

I don’t know what the weather is like where you but in Liverpool it’s been dark all week. The cloud hasn’t lifted at all. It feels like winter!

This week has felt like such a come down after graduation week. I’d been looking forward to it for so long (three years!) but now it’s just a distant memory.

However, I had someΒ  good news this week in the form of an email inviting me to a job interview. It’s a relief to know employers are actually reading my CV, and not just putting it in the bin because I’ve only just graduated.

Tyrone started his job this week, so I’ve had a lot of time to myself to continue applying for jobs. Ty is doing a work placement for a year and then next September he will go back to university to finish his final year. It’s such a brilliant opportunity; I only wish there had been more placements for geography students.

I decided to try the 30 days of yoga challenge on the Yoga with Adriene YouTube channel. Today marks day 7 of the challenge, and I like to think its going well so far. It feels more strenous than other yoga I have done before, but I know that it must have wonderful benefits for my hip muscles.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Oh, oh, oh! πŸ˜€ Good luck with your job interview, Holly! My fingers will be crossed for you!

And the weather here’s been RAINY. Our rainy season was super late this year. It’s nastily wet and humid, so I am already wanting the dry heat to come back. That’s more bearable than the wetness!

  2. Congrats on the interview! One step closer to getting where you want to be! πŸ™‚ They have placements here for geography students in various places. I know a few of them go to the government for positions, and at the place I am at a lot of them are out doing surveying (while I am creating the database to manage invoices for project management). I guess it all depends where you are too. Here at my university they get to go to Churchhill and do a huge project their final year.

It has been plus 30 celcius every day here this week! Minus a giant thunderstorm with hail the other day because of the heat dropping it has been quite amazing.

Thank you! All the best work placements are down south near London, and was never interested in relocating. I wish more things happened in the north!

  3. Kendel

Good luck on your job interview! I’m sure you nailed it (or will nail it) πŸ™‚
It IS winter in NZ, so the weather has been pretty rubbish πŸ™ I’ve been thinking about picking up yoga, so I might have to give that channel a look πŸ™‚

Thank you! I’ll try my best!

I highly recommend Yoga with Adriene. There are lots of great videos, all with varying levels of difficulty.

  4. Good luck with your interview. It’s great you’ve started a yoga challenge, it must be helpful.

Thank you! I definitely feel like my hips are getting stronger and my balance is improving too.

  5. Chynna

We recently just got really crappy weather; it just makes me want to snuggle in bed all day with Netflix. Definitely feels like winter again.

Good luck in your job interview!

I’ve been looking for good yoga videos – will have to check it out πŸ™‚

The weather has been opposite here! It’s super sunny and very hot. We started with a rainy summer, but now it feels like the typical hot and dry Texas summer.

I’ve never done yoga before, but I know a lot of people who like it and find it helpful. A 30 day challenge sounds like a good idea!

Congrats on getting the job interview! I hope it goes well!

  7. Hopefully you’re able to get some things done with all of the rain happening (or that will happen)! Congratulations on getting an interview! Hopefully it goes well so you have some experience in :). Congrats to Tyrone on starting his job. I wish for the best for the both of you!!

It sounds like you’re doing great on the yoga challenge so far. Keep it up and you’ll see results! πŸ™‚

      Thank you!

At least being stuck in because of the rain means I can get the flat tidy and sort out some of my stuff.

Congratulations on getting a job interview πŸ™‚ The weather here in Norway has been dark all summer. Last year the weather was extremely nice, while this year we have probably only had a week of sun.
So glad to see you are doing the yoga challenge. I really like it and I felt like it was a great base for when I want to start practising more yoga on my own. Good luck with the challenge πŸ™‚

    • Holly

      Thank you!

It’s similar in the UK. The weather was much nicer in spring.

I’m really enjoying the yoga challenge. It’s not just helping with my muscles but I also feel like it’s helping me to relax.

Lovely news about the job interview!! Good luck with it!
