Herseys and Reeses

This week started with some great news!

I found out that I achieved a first class grade in my dissertation. I was completely shocked and over the moon. What I am most proud of is the fact I didn’t ask for a deadline extension, even when I was having problems leaving the house to conduct my interviews for the report thanks to my deteriorating hip condition.

I have an Excel spreadsheet that acts as a grade calculator (which is not at all sad) and so each time I receive a new grade it goes into the calculator to work out how well I am doing with my degree.

I’m pleased to report that even before I’ve sat my exams and received all of my coursework marks back, I have a degree at a 2:2 class. Hopefully I can do well in exams over the next few weeks and maybe even achieve a 1st in my degree.

As I tweeted this week, I’m not sure whether it’s the sunshine or the fact I am nearing the end of my degree but I am feeling very inspired at the moment. I’m also the happiest I’ve been in a very long time. I really think choosing to not go on to a masters right now was a wise choice. A break a way from education will do me the world of good. Who knows, I may never feel the need to return to formal education. We are always learning, even when we aren’t studying.

Have a great weekend!

  1. It’s great to see you so excited and happy x

  2. Good job on your dissertation! I’m so glad it’s going well for you. All your hardwork is paying off πŸ˜€ I felt the same way when I approached the ending of my schoolwork, but it wasn’t until when I was completely done and knew I’d passed that I was thrilled and super happy.

Thanks. πŸ™‚ It’s good to know that I’ve already passed so that I’m not as stressed about the exams. I still want a good grade though!

That is so great that you are feeling so well at the moment. The result is really cool. πŸ˜€ I am sure that you will do well in the exams and get the 1st! πŸ˜€

Thank you! I’ve just got to push a little more over the next couple of weeks and then it will all be over.

  4. That’s awesome. Congrats! And it’s even more awesome that you are doing well at the moment, as well!

  5. Cat

Congrats on getting a first class grade on your dissertation! I’m really glad that you’re feeling so happy right now πŸ˜€

I totally agree with the “always learning” part. There are some things you only learn once you’re out in the working world anyway! I think a break from education makes sense. I did the same and ended up not going back, haha. Some of my friends have though!

      Thank you. πŸ™‚

Yeah, I’m really not a fan of formal education, especially the examination side of things. I learn more doing hands-on working, so I’m hoping I can find a job that allows me to learn in this way.
