New York notebook, passport and dollars

I’m going on an adventure.

I’m going on my first internal flight as well as my first long-haul flight, and landing in New York for my first visit to America.

I shall see you all when I get back. Be prepared for a lot of New York related posts. I’m going to milk it.

This week I had my viva, which is basically a presentation and Q&A session that I have to do about my research project. I was incredibly nervous and I felt it could have gone a lot better. I’m terrible at answering questions.

On Tuesday, Tyrone and I caught the train to Manchester and checked into our hotel for a little night away (all thanks to MissPond). The weather was awful so we didn’t get to do much exploring. However, we did go out for a meal in the evening at Bella Italia which lovely, and we bought some beers to take back to the hotel.

On Wednesday we took the tram to Media City ready to be in the Jeremy Kyle Show audience. The morning show overran so we were two hours late going in. We got to sit through the recordings of two whole episodes, plus some links and a special section which will be shown on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway this Saturday! So keep your eyes open for me. I was wearing a mint green dress.

We had such a fun time watching all the drama on the show. Lots of shouting, running off the stage, calling Jeremy “Jerry”, as well as Jeremy cocking up a lot. It really was interesting to see how it all worked.

After the show we caught the tram back to the train station and picked up a Burger King to eat on the platform while waiting for our train. I don’t know, there was something strangely romantic about it.

I caught the train back to Shropshire on Friday, ready to have a quiet Saturday before our trip.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Have a great time in New York! It’s going to be amazing!
I’m sure your viva went better than you think, things like that usually do. It sounds like Manchester was great fun! I can’t imagine Jeremy Kyle messing up – that’s something I’d like to see!

  2. Cat

  3. Have a great weekend πŸ™‚ Sounds like a lot is ahead of you, but I guarantee it will go by quickly. Enjoy your trip!
