The Weekend Blog | Jetting off

In just a few days I’ll be heading off to Lanzarote for a week and I couldn’t be looking forward to it any more. I realised that I’ve been at my job for 9 months now, so I’m ready for a break.

I’m mostly looking forward to chilling out by the pool with a cocktail in one hand and my Kindle in the other, but we have been researching things to do on the island and I’m really keen on visiting Timanfaya National Park to see some volcanic land forms.

I’m still a geographer at heart!

I’m planning on having an Internet detox for the week while I’m away. It felt so good when I did it last year when we went on the cruise, even though it wasn’t planned, so hopefully I won’t feel the need to switch on my wifi.

This week I’ve been sorting out my clothes for the holiday and I’ve bought a ton of new items. I can’t wait share the outfits I wear on the blog, even though I’m not a fashion blogger nor a very fashionable person. I’m just proud of the outfits I’ve created.

I’ve also been packing my suitcase and breaking down over the fact I still have a huge bruise on my hip from my fall last weekend. It’s such a horrible colour at the moment so it looks pretty ugly. Fingers crossed it will disappear by the time we get to Lanzarote.

See you when I get back!

Have a great weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Breaks are definitely needed after all of that grinding and hustling at work! It sounds like you’re going to have some major rest and relaxation with the cocktail and Kindle by the pool ;). Have fun with visiting the national park! Have fun with sorting out some last bits of detail and enjoy your much deserved trip!

  2. I hope you have an amazing time. The national park should be fab. xx

a trip to nature! how interesting! I’d love to go to islands for geographical adventures too :3

enjoy your trip and i hope you have a good break from it 🙂

  4. I think we all have a right to share the outfits we have put together! My own style has changed over time and it’s nice to document it. And laugh at the fact that I used to wear big t-shirts and denim skirts. A lot. 😛

On our trip so far I have used the internet a bit less. It is nice to have it there, in case I need it, which is why I bought a SIM card and paid to have internet access from my phone – not to mention all of our Airbnb apartments/homes have wifi. It is useful for the nights when we want to just reconnect… but it’s not like I am glued to the internet or keeping tabs on things. 😀

Have an awesome time! Hope to see lots of photos!
