The Weekend Blog | Getting our move on

It’s official. We are moving!

As I mentioned last week, we have been accepted to rent a house on the other side of the Mersey. At the beginning of the week I had to fill in a load of forms for the legal side of things (i.e. making sure I earn enough money), and on Wednesday I found out that everything had come back fine, so we’ve set a move in date; February 27th.

Yep, two weeks.

I have two weeks to plan a move. I must be mad.

Although it has been quite a stressful process, everything seems to be coming together. I’ve sent back the tenancy agreement, I’ve hired a man with a van, and I’ve started looking for furniture and appliances to purchase. Now it’s just a case of packing my life in to boxes and cleaning the flat like a maniac.

In other news (because there is more to my life than moving house) I went to the cinema to see Deadpool yesterday which I really enjoyed. I think Ryan Reynolds has finally redeemed himself after the disaster than way Green Lantern.

In the evening my friends Darren and Sharon came over for home made pizzas and a game of Cards Against Humanity. We needed to try out the expansion pack I bought for Tyrone for Christmas. I’m looking forward to even more evenings like this when we move to our house.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Great news! Good for you that you only have the contents of a little flat to pack down.

I’m genuinely shocked at how much we have managed to get into a tiny flat like ours. Where did it all come from?!

  2. Woo exciting about moving!! It will be stressful but definitely worth it. I really want to see Deadpool as well!

  3. I’m moving too! The day after you on 28th. I’ve got 2 weeks to panic pack. I always knew I owned too much clothing, but now I realise this is just ridiculous the amount I own!! If you have any tips, pass them my way!

    • Sorry for the site plug above! I always end up automatically doing it!

Wow! I know so many people who are moving the same weekend I am. Maybe it’s something about the new year and getting restless? I don’t know!

One tip I do have is use sandwich bags to pack things in. They’re so handy! Good luck with your move!

  4. This must be so exciting for you guys! Stressful, I’m sure haha, but exciting! And it will be so worth it once you’re all settles and living in your quiet house! I’m glad everything is coming together for the both of you! We will be moving in May and I’m not looking forward to all the packing.

I haven’t seen Deadpool yet, but everyone has had nothing but positive reviews so far, so I’m excited to go sometime next week maybe. πŸ™‚

Congrats on getting everything filled in and setting a move date! Two weeks is a pretty short time to get everything packed, but at the same time, that means you’ll be in the house sooner and away from noisy neighbors πŸ™‚ Good luck with everything!

We have tickets to see Deadpool this Friday, and I’m excited. I was worried about this movie, so I’m glad to see it getting so much good feedback. I didn’t see Green Lantern, but it’ll be nice to see Deadpool done properly after that horrible Wolverine Origins movie!

Congratulations again and now best of luck with the entire moving process! It will be all worth it in the end. =)

Everywhere I go, I keep hearing about the Deadpool movie. I’m far from being a movie buff, but from what I’ve heard so far, I might want to check this one out. One of my girlfriends just asked a guy out to this movie. I wonder if it would get my boyfriend out of his flat to come watch it with me too haha.

I say you should invite your friends back or even a larger group of people for a house warming once you move in and get settled in the new place!

Sounds exciting! I hope you find efficient movers. Haha. You seem to have a pretty bad luck with delivery and such.
Deadpool was so good. It hit all the notes I was hoping it hit. Did you stay for the after-credits scene?
