The Weekend Blog | Birthday Celebrations

Happy 2016!

Welcome to the first Weekend Blog of the year! I’ve decided to start naming the Weekend Blog posts instead of referring to them as volumes. It just makes it easier for me to remember what I wrote about in each post when I look back.

On Wednesday in was my birthday and I turned 22. I never really look forward to my birthdays, and for some reason I always end up feeling down, so I decided not to book the day off work.

I kind of wish I did though because I was feeling ill on Wednesday. I’ve only just got over the cold I had before Christmas, but on Tuesday night I started with a sore throat again. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I think I need more vitamins in my diet.

After work Tyrone and I went out for a meal. I didn’t want to go anywhere fancy; I just wanted a massive portion of burger and chips (totally not helping with the lack of vitamins in my diet!). I ended the evening with a pampering session so I could try out the Liz Earl products my mum bought me for my birthday. So far, so good.

My parents came over yesterday (hence why I’m publishing this blog today) to celebrate my birthday. We went out to Smugglers Cove on the docks for their famous kebabs, and all in all just had a really relaxed day.

Next week is going to be a challenging one for me. I have a dentist appointment on Thursday (maybe I’ll make it this time!) followed by a steroid injection on Friday, but most importantly my mum is going in hospital for a little operation on her heart on Wednesday. She’s a Pryce though, and we Pryce’s are fighters, so she will be fine. 😉

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

P.S. Don’t forget to follow along with my 365 Instagram challenge!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Happy birthday! I’m sorry you were sick on your birthday. I hope your mother will recover fast after her surgery. xx

  2. Hoping everything goes well with your Mums op and your trip to the dentist! Is it weird that I actually like going to the dentist? I think that’s weird, but I love getting my teeth checked and polished haha!

Thank you! Haha, that is a little strange. I’m dreading it because I think I chipped a tooth back in the summer and I’m worried I’m going to be in trouble!

  3. Happy birthday- I had a relaxing weekend with my parents too, just wonderful isn’t it?! I hope your week goes well, thinking of you x

Well, happy belated birthday, and I hope you feel better. Good luck on Thursday, that’s a lot of things happening on the same day. I also have a dentist appointment on Thursday. I used to have a terrible fear of dentists, but now have found one who is fantastic and it doesn’t bother me much anymore (probably it would for more invasive treatments, but I haven’t needed any so far).
I hope your chipped tooth will be easy and not too expensive to fix. And I hope all goes well with your mother’s surgery.

      Thank you. 🙂

I’m going to see a new dentist so I hope he’s good. Nothing worse than a rubbish dentist.

Happy birthday! That sucks you didn’t feel well on your birthday 🙁 I think having a large portion of burgers and chips is a great way to celebrate, haha. Doesn’t have to be fancy. Just has to be something you like, and burgers are delicious! That’s nice that your parents visited for your birthday too!

I hope things go well with your dentist appointment and steroid injection. I hope your mom’s surgery goes well too! I wish her a speedy recovery!

  6. Happy birthday! Sorry you were sick.
