The Weekend Blog

23rd August 2014

What one word links what I go up to this week and what Tyrone is up to this weekend?

This week my mum treated us both to a spa day with a back massage and afternoon tea for lunch. You can read my review of the day here.

Tyrone is at a whole different type of spa. He’s in Spa in Belgium attending the Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend. He’s already making me jealous with stories of giant glasses of beer and Nutella on waffles. I’m already craving another trip abroad.

But yes, I’m at home in Shropshire this week. I’m making the most of the free food and the idea of not having to do any house work. Pure bliss.

Despite having come back for some relaxation, I’ve actually been quite busy this week. I went out for drinks with some family friends on Wednesday evening after the spa day. I met my friend Becky for breakfast on Thursday and went swimming on Friday.

Today I tagged along with my parents as they went to test drive a car. They ended up purchasing a Mini which will be my mum’s car, while my dad will drive the convertible. They’re like a pair of teenagers!

This week I was contacted by Joe Blogs Network and was invited to a photography workshop for bloggers next month in Manchester. At first I gave the idea some thought, and then decided that I’d be stupid not to go. I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to develop my photography skills and to meet some other bloggers. I’ve never actually met another blogger in person!

I hope I get the opportunity to speak to some of the people attending in advance because I’m pretty shy around new people.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. I am aiming to get 50 followers in total on BlogLovin for empfire by the end of the year. I know it’s not a lot but it would mean so much if you could help me out. I follow back too. Click here to follow.

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. That’s so cool that you’re going to go to a blogger event for photography! I hope you have a blast and post all about it on here. You definitely want to go to as many blogging events as possible. They’re just a lot of fun!

I will definitely be writing about it here. It’s part of the deal. πŸ˜› But yes I aim to take as many opportunities as possible.

  2. Amy

Oh wow, I’d love a Mini! I can’t wait until I have a proper job and can afford a car that isn’t ten years old haha.

I think I’d be to nervous to go to a blogger event, but the photography workshop sounds fun! I may have to join Joe Blogs Network – it sounds really good. Hope you have fun!

I’ve started back on Bloglovin’ again because it’s so much easier to catch up on people’s posts. I used to use Google Reader but it doesn’t exist anymore and since then I’ve been in and out of blogging too much. It’s so much easier to keep up with a feed! Hope you get to 50 followers!

I wish I owned a car! But then I suppose it’s more practical for me to use public transport at the moment.

You should join! I’ve only been member for a few weeks and already I’m getting invited to places. πŸ˜€

  3. It sounds like you had a really good time at the spa! It makes me want to go to a spa for a spa day XD. It sounds like Tyrone is having fun drinking and watching the race, haha.

Teenagers or not, convertibles are awesome. That reminds me of one of my coworkers, who is in his 50’s and he drive nothing but sports cars for the past 25 years. I still think that’s pretty neat.

Oooh! The photography workshop sounds cool! Hope you’ll have fun attending~

Good luck with getting 50 followers on Bloglovin!

Haha, my dad is 56 and he’s only just bought a convertible. It has always been his dream to own one, and I now he’s got no kids at home it’s more practical to own one. πŸ˜›

  4. Cat

It sounds like you had a great day at the spa! Though you’ve been busy, those sound like fun things to do at least πŸ™‚

I hope the photography workshop turns out well! An event to meet other bloggers is cool too. I’ve only met a few because they happen to be in Texas too. Have fun at the workshop!

    • Holly

I’ve always wanted to meet other bloggers so I thought this would be the best opportunity. πŸ™‚

  5. Ooh, a spa? Sounds awesome!

Sounds like you had a great time, and good luck with your goal! I’ll probably follow you!

  6. Wow the workshop sounds exciting. I hope it goes well πŸ™‚
