The Weekend Blog

9th August 2014

This week has been a bit boring. The weather was typically British last weekend (i.e wet, windy and altogether rubbish), and so it once again cancelled our plans to Chester.

We then decided to go on Wednesday, but instead I had to sit in and wait for some software to be delivered from disability support. I get free software that is suppose to make it easier for me to learn when I’m in too much pain to concentrate. I’m not sure how it’s suppose to help, but I agreed to have it because it was free.

I’m making up for 20 years of not getting any support for my disability. πŸ˜‰

I planned to share a recipe on the blog this week. I was cooking large pasta shells filled with ricotta[1. I told my friend I was using ‘panna cotta’ because I’m an idiot and got confused.] and spinach on Wednesday and recipe seemed so simple and delicious that I though it would make a perfect post on the blog. I adapted the recipe to make it veggie friendly and even took photographs. The food looked gorgeous but tasted bland. Ricotta isn’t as tasty as I expected. I was feeling disappointed with myself.

That, combined with the fact I finally lost my view of the Liver Building on Wednesday, made my mid-week pretty depressing. RIP pretty view. All I have to remember it by is the picture I used in my header.

One day, if I work hard enough, I’ll buy a flat with the most incredible view of the Liver Building.

On Thursday I had my last session of physiotherapy. To be honest, I didn’t want to leave. I’ve been enjoying it and having the ultrasound has been so relaxing. I know that I can keep doing all the exercises that I have to do at home, but there was something about seeing the physiotherapist every week that kept me motivated. It’s all in my hands now.

Hopefully next week will be more exciting. I am determined to get to Chester no matter what the weather throws at us! I need more pretty pictures to share.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Hopefully the software will benefit you :). Your recipe sounds delicious! Even though it tasted bland, at least you got the looks down. Maybe next time?

Good luck with getting that flat some day! It sounds like physiotherapy has been going great. Keep it up with the exercises at home and you’ll be good to go :).

    Have a good weekend~

Is Chester the place that has the big zoo? Haha. I want to go so bad!

I hope you’ll be able to go to Chester next week! That’s too bad you had to cancel your plans for it again. I hope the software helps too. Even if it doesn’t, it’s still nice to get free stuff πŸ˜‰

Pasta with ricotta and spinach sounds good. It’s too bad that it was bland though. Adding herbs often help! We did a curry recipe recently that we thought was bland, so we improvised and added our own spices and seasoning. Tasted so much better after that πŸ™‚ We like to keep a lot of dried herbs on hand incase we need them.

I’m glad the psyiotherapy has been going well! I hope things will continue to go well with the exercises at home πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend!

I have a cupboard full of dry herbs but I didn’t think to use them. I was so set on following the recipe that I forgot to use them. A little bit of salt would have gone a long way too. Ah well, maybe next time.
