I got tickets for Phoenix Nights Live

Here’s a few reasons why I’ve not been blogging recently:

  • November is my least favourite month. I don’t want to spread the negativity through my blog.
  • I haven’t been doing anything other than uni work. I’m not living a very exciting life at the moment.
  • My health has been crappy. My hip is in pain 90% of the time, and this week I found out I have arthritis in the joint.
  • Did I mention I hate November?

I don’t know what it is about November. October is fun because it’s autumnal and December is all Christmasy, but November is the in-between month where it’s gloomy outside and stressful for students.

Still, not many more days to go. On Monday we can break into our advent calendars and put the tree up. The thought of that is making me feel better already.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all of my American readers! One of my friends who I lived with in the first year of uni celebrates it every year. She’s not American but I actually think it is a great holiday to celebrate. It’s like an early Christmas, given that we don’t get to see each other over the Christmas break. We all picked food to cook and bring, and I was in charge of the turkey. Seen as I’ve never cooked it before I was quite impressed with myself.

Did any of you manage to bag any goodies from Black Friday? As I always say, it’s only a bargain if you wanted it in the first place. That means when the James Bond Blu-ray collection went on sale on Amazon we felt somewhat less guilty about purchasing it. πŸ˜›

In other news, today Tyrone and I managed to purchase tickets for Phoenix Nights Live. For those of you who don’t know, Phoenix Nights (in my opinion) is probably one of the best British comedies ever written. When I spent 6 weeks in plaster after surgery on my hip when I was 10, my parents introduced me to Phoenix Nights. While I didn’t get half the jokes (very adult) I thought it was the funniest thing in the world. I still find it hillarious to watch today.

Only 12 episodes were ever made but now it is being performed live in aid of charity, and we’ve got tickets to go. I have to give all the credit to Tyrone because Ticketmaster crashed for me but he managed to get his hands on two tickets and typed in my card details in less than a minute. You have no idea how happy this has made me. πŸ˜€

Plus, the following week we are off to see Top Gear Live. February is going to be fantastic!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Christmas is always exciting, and it’s nice to see friends and be merry.
I didn’t get Black Friday, it just seemed such a consumerist based thing, but maybe I’m not part of the demographic that black friday appeals to?
Seeing Top Gear live though, that is exciting!

Black Friday made me realise that some humans just haven’t evolved. I’ve seen so many videos of people fighting over TVs it’s ridiculous.

  2. Rachel

Sorry to hear you’ve been ill, I have been ill tool (as always) and you have my sympathy. I hope things are a little better for you now that it’s December!
