The best homemade pizza dough
15th August 2014
A few nights ago we made our own pizzas. By “we” I of course mean “Tyrone”. He does most of the cooking in our flat because he’s a lot better at it than me.
The dough is based on a Jamie Oliver recipe. I can honestly say that it makes the most delicious pizza bases. It really does rival the likes of Domino’s (and that’s saying something!).
The recipe makes enough dough for 6-8 pizzas. Tyrone rolled out the extra dough into bases and froze these, ready for more pizzas in the future.
The sauce (according to Tyrone) is a tin of chopped tomatoes with added garlic and herbs. It’s not really a recipe as such. Just add what you like and hope for the best. Fortunately, it always turns out well.
We used two types of cheese on our pizzas: mozzarella and cheddar. I also added some cooked sandwich chicken to mine. However, my usual choice of topping would be ham and mushroom. That’s why I always order a New Yorker from Domino’s.
Why the square pizza? Because we only have one round baking tray, haha!
What’s your favourite pizza topping?
