Questions and Answers #1

30th August 2012

In my previous post I asked you to leave me some questions to answer in my next blog. Thank you to everyone who did. ๐Ÿ˜€ Here are my answers…

~ Mutay asked:

Whatโ€™s your most cherish memory?

My most cherished memory is when I went swimming with dolphins when I was 13 years old. Since I was 7 years old I had always wanted to swim with dolphins. When I was 10 I had major surgery on my hip and pelvis and I went through a long recovery process. As a present for my bravery, my nan paid for me to swim with dolphins in Portugal. I will always remember ringing my nan straight after I had done it and telling her all about it.

Favourite TV show and why?

Grey’s Anatomy. I have only recently discovered this show. I started watching it from the beginning online and now I’m up to series 7. I like it because it’s really entertaining and it’s got quite a bit of humour in it too. It’s so damn addictive though. ๐Ÿ˜›

~ Cat asked:

How did you choose your major?

Geography was never my first choice. I grew up wanting to work with dolphins so I planned on studying marine biology. Then when I started college I realised that I was rubbish at biology and that I had lost interest in the subject. In the end I decided to study geography because I’m good at it (or so I like to think), I’m fascinated by it and there is a huge variety of jobs you can do once you have a degree it geography. It’s an incredibly useful subject. ๐Ÿ™‚

Where would you really like to visit one day?

I’d love to visit America. I want to spend a really long time there and just travel around the whole country, seeing all the famous sights and places that interest me. In particular, I’d like to go Yellowstone National Park, Chicago, Seattle and New York. Oh and of course, I want to go to a Comic-Con. ๐Ÿ˜‰

~ Michael asked:

How did you find/do you think youโ€™ll find balancing blogging and studying?

I like to think I can balance the two pretty well. I managed to cope through college even though I had very little free time. Often I would blog while I was in college when I had a free period and I was fed up of revision. I’m sure I will be able to keep up with blogging while I’m at university. I’m hoping that there will be more to blog about while living in Liverpool.

That’s cool that you got to swim with dolphins! I’ve seen people do it, but I’ve never tried myself. It’s so expensive! That was so sweet of your nan ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it’s interesting to see how people chose their major, because I feel like it often wasn’t their first choice. My major wasn’t my first choice either, but I ended up loving it. I’m glad you found a major that you’re really interested in!

I love Seattle and New York. I plan on visiting New York again very soon ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Here’s something that you might want to look into, that will break your heart, not going to lie. So, if you can, try to watch the documentary called The Cove. It’s really well-known in California because well..we’re all kind of hippies. Okay, not all of us, but in LA where I live, people care about what they eat, where their food comes from, animals, etc. So, watch the Cove. It’s about dolphins & Japan. Since you’re major is Geography, you’ll find that it appeals to both your prior interest in marine biology & geography. You’ll see what I mean if you watch it.

Really awesome that your nan got you that though. But seriously, watch the Cove. I actually have it on my computer so I could upload it onto my server & you could download it. Just let me know.

Pftt if you’re going to visit the States, you should visit California too. (There’s nothing in seattle besides a million starbucks & this tall thing). Plus, Comic Con is in San Diego. California is awesome! Tons of things to do, but I’ll switch you places because I love England.

Good luck with keeping up your blog throughout your schooling. Sometimes it’s not even that you’re busy with schoolwork that you disables you to blog, but that you’re too lazy or tired or busy with your life!

  3. I thought I’d be able to keep up with blogging while at University, but I failed miserably. It totally consumed my life. Good luck with that!! XD Ahhh no intentions of scaring you. It’s totally possible lol.

I feel like someone needs to buy you a dolphin. You’re clearly obsessed. I love how to celebrate your surgery recovery, you were put in a potentially dangerous situation. That’s rather amusing to me.

Yeah Comic-con is on my bucket list too. Would you dress up? And if so, as what??

Recovery is definitely worth having, my old computer had a really bad battery so it dies easily. Once it died right in the middle of my design and when I turned it back on, Photoshop had my work waiting for me. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ve never seen an episode of Greys Anatomy, I never sit and watch it. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I have no idea how you can deal with Geography! I had that class once I hated it and I mean really really hated it.

  5. I found that I probably blogged more when I was in school because it was a great way to procrastinate haha. I would blog instead of doing my work because I wanted to put it off for as long as possible.

  6. Hey holly! loved this idea of answering questions of other people… a totally cool idea… I’ve been so lazy these days to go and revew a book of write a general blog… and even to read someone’s blogs! But I kinda enjoy your blogs…hehe

I wanna go to the Comic-Con too….and is Grey’s Anatomy really good? it’s gonna air in India from today… I’m thinking of watching it….
