Home from Portugal

27th July 2012

I guess you can see that I didn’t blog while I was in Portugal. Yeah, about that…I was too lazy! Hehe. πŸ˜› Not just that but the internet connection wasn’t great and every time I used the internet I had to sit on a stool in the kitchen or on the stair case in the villa, and neither of these were comfortable. To add to this, my phone was just being silly and crashed a few too many times. It drove me insane to the point where I started hitting it.

I had a lovely relaxing holiday, as always. I don’t really have much to say about my trip to Portugal because I’ve been there so many times and I do so little while I’m there. Basically I would get up, eat, go to the beach, eat, go to the pool, eat, sleep. And that’s what happened nearly everyday. It gave me the chance to do a lot of reading though. I read 2 and a half books, and that’s a record for me. I’m a slow reader. I managed to finish one book in about 3 days. And no, it wasn’t a picture book.

I visited a place called Cape St Vincent. It is the most south westerly point in Europe. After that there is nothing until America. I’ve visited this place before but this time my mum wanted to go and watch the sunset. It was pretty spectacular to be honest. It was really busy there and everyone cheered when the sun finally set. I took some pictures that I will eventually upload to my photoblog.

We also found a shopping centre in a town nearby where we were staying. I was so surprised as it was just like a shopping centre in England, but nicer. There were some shops that I am familiar with such as H&M and Primark but also some ones I had never heard of before that I really liked. I’ll definitely be looking them up online later. πŸ˜‰

I’m very fortunate to have skin that goes a lovely colour in the sun. Even if I burn my skin will go brown after a couple of days, which is lucky as I burnt my belly and the back of my legs. But I didn’t realise how tanned I was until I got home. I’m a completely different colour! My parents must have also tanned well as someone asked them for directions, mistaking them for locals!

Anyway, I’m planning on seeing The Dark Knight Rises on Wednesday. Since I was on holiday I couldn’t go and see it the day it came out which I probably would have done if I was at home. Please don’t tell me what happens. So far I am clueless and I’d like to keep it that way. I’m a big Batman fan and I like surprises! πŸ˜€

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

The new Batman film looks awesome! My cousin went and he loved it!

It sounds like you had a nice time in Portugal – My nan and granddad have been a few times and they love it there!

I never blog when I’m away – I mean to, but I just don’t. It’s just a way of life, really (That sounds weird, I know, but you have to agree – Blog+Holiday=MeSaysNa) πŸ˜‰

Hey Holly, I opened my new site after like 6 months of not blogging or anything! I used to own Offbeatsoul, btw πŸ˜› My other comment is above πŸ˜›

  3. Ben

Thanks, Holly πŸ˜€ It’s nice to know that not all of my old friends have left πŸ˜› I went back on offbeatsoul.webs to see the list and I was like WTF where is everyone?

  4. Cat

Welcome back! That sounds like a nice and relaxing trip! Sometimes I’d rather just to relax on a beach than do any sight seeing. I look forward to the photos πŸ™‚

I tan a lot too, though oddly enough, my parents don’t really. I always notice how much more I’ve tanned due to the noticeable tan lines I get afterward, haha.

I hope you enjoy seeing the Dark Knight Rises! I saw it a couple days after opening. Fortunately, we got our tickets early because it sold out pretty fast.

  5. Sounds like you had a blast. I can only imagine what color you are now. I’m jealous of your skin… because I burn so easily. I get tan, but it takes about a month of pain first. Grr….

It wasn’t a picture book? So it was a pop-up book.

I’m so jealous, I want a holiday so bad right now!
I’m glad you had a lovely time though, it sounds beautiful. Can’t wait to see the pictures, what’s your photoblog URL? πŸ™‚

    How’d you find Batman?
The big Hall they used for Wayne Manor is part of my local park… It was so bizarre seeing the place where I walk my dog on a cinema screen πŸ˜›

Oops, never mind about the plog URL – I just noticed it’s in your footer πŸ˜‰

  8. Gillian

Whoa. You just got back from Portugal and I’m just about to leave for Portugal haha.

Nice to hear that you had a nice relaxing holiday. I plan on spending a lot of time sleeping and at beaches when I’m there as well. πŸ˜›

You’re lucky that your skin is immune to ugly tans. My skin is just immune to tanning in general. It’s the same color always.

I haven’t seen the Dark Knight, but I’ve heard nothing but great reviews, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. πŸ™‚
