This week I have spent some time living on my own. My parents had a few days off work and so decided to go to Yorkshire for a couple of nights. It’s the first time my parents have let me stay at home alone but I’m 18 now and in a few months time I will be living alone in Liverpool (hopefully).
I really enjoyed being home alone. I know it sounds childish but it was nice just to be able to do what I wanted to do. For example, I didn’t have to watch the boring TV shows that my parents always insist on wanting. I could have what I wanted for my dinner and cook it when ever I wanted it. I went out for a meal with Becky and Becca on Thursday night which was really nice.
On Tuesday I had a progress test in geography. I was pretty annoyed since my teacher didn’t tell us in advance and I hadn’t done much revision. I’ve been busy with my ICT mock exam and I have a biology mock in this coming week. I gave it my best shot though. When I went into lesson on Friday my teacher had marked the paper and gave us them back. I had achieved a C which I didn’t think was too bad considering I hadn’t revised. However, when I looked though the mark scheme, I realised that she had given me 0 marks for a question I had got right. I questioned her about it and she had to give me the marks, even though I could tell she didn’t want to. I got 9 extra marks and that moved me from a C to an A!! But strangely she wrote A* on the front of my paper. Hey, I’m not complaining. I’ll take that haha!!
I’ve been trying to sort out my student finance today, again! It’s a complete nightmare. The deadline is this Friday so I’ve had to take matters into my own hands. I rang the helpline again today and literally begged for help. The guy who was talking to me was pretty helpful. He understood my situation and told me not to worry too much about the deadline. He said it was more of a guideline than a final cut off point. He said that I was probably better off filling in all of the forms by hand and sending them in. I’m not too concerned now. As long as I can get my funding one way or another, I will be well on my way to university.
The weather here at the moment is amazing. Yesterday, Tyrone and I decided to go for a walk in the countryside. I know I constantly moan about where I live but I do appreciate being so close to nature. We took our cameras out with us and took some pictures. I’ll share a few with you here and post some more on my photoblog.
