30th June 2012

I am really enjoying my time away from college. Lying in, getting up when I feel like it and doing very little all day. Perfect!

On Tuesday I went to Tyrone’s house. We went out for a meal at an Indian restaurant. Our meal was really nice and I enjoyed spending some time together without having to think about college or things like that. I’m just relaxing and that was a nice way to put an end to my college year. πŸ™‚

Also on Tuesday I got a call about one of the jobs I applied for. I was offered the chance to go along to an interview which really cheered me up after the job rejection I got last week. Yesterday I went to the interview with my hair looking fabulous (I’ve just had it cut). I don’t really have any smart clothes so I just wore my old school trousers and a nice blouse. The interview didn’t last very long. It was pretty laid back and I wasn’t asked too many questions. It sounds like quite a challenging job but it’s only for a few hours a week. I’m up for a challenge and I enjoy learning new things, so fingers crossed!

Today I went to Liverpool with my parents. I didn’t plan on buying anything as I’m pretty skint but my mum treated me. I found a dress in Primark that I really liked. Now, I never usually find things in Primark so this was quite a surprise. I tried it on thinking that I would end up leaving the changing room with nothing but it fit. It fit perfectly. It honestly looks like it was made to measure! And not just that but it really suited me. I showed my mum and she couldn’t believe it was a Primark dress. She said it looked like it had come from a much more up-market shop. I was impressed, especially as it was only Β£15. My mum said she would pay for it for me. “I’d rather treat you in here than in Hollister.” Haha!! πŸ˜›

I bought some coloured jeans from Pull and Bear and then we went for lunch in one of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool. If you are ever in the city I recommend M&C Steakhouse. πŸ˜‰ I had the mussels as usual and they were cooked perfectly.

After lunch we did a bit more shopping and then we made our way back to the train station. But as we walked passed the Hilton hotel we saw a load of young girls, all about the same age, crowded around outside one of the doors. We assumed that there must have been someone famous staying there. We carried on walking through the shops and then suddenly hundreds of screaming girls came running through the shopping centre with banners, some of which read “We love Justin Bieber”. Rumour has it he was in town. How exciting!!!!!!!

LOL joke, I have good taste in music! πŸ˜›

It amazed me really. Liverpool is the city that gave the world The Beatles, and now there are girls behaving exactly the same way about Justin Bieber as girls did back in the 60’s as Beatlemania was hitting the world.

No offence to any of you Beliebers but I’d rather be one of the girls screaming over Paul, John, George and Ringo than Justin.

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Ashley

Sounds like you’ve been having quite the time. I would love to go shopping and have my mom buy me things instead of paying for it myself! Hehe lucky you!

Hopefully you get the job! I’ve been looking for some time for one, without luck. So I hope you have more luck than I do.

Eww Justin Beiber ;p His new song reminds me of Justin Timberlake o.o

  2. Cat

Sounds like your time away from college has been awesome and relaxing so far πŸ˜€ That was nice of your mom to buy you that dress! haha, I would rather scream over the Beatles than Bieber too. I wonder if he was really there, or if they were screaming for nothing.

I hope you get the job! Good luck!

  3. Thuyy

Sounds like fun over there! I’m going in August, so you’ll need to tell me all the must-see places to go! (:
Hopefully you dominated the interview and got the job!
You have an awesome mom! My mom’s extremely cheap, she won’t buy anything for me unless it was like…less than $5… or if she had coupons…T_T
OMFG JUSTIN BEIBER??? haha jk aswell, i’m not that much of a fan, but still i’d take a pic just to brag it in my friends’ faces. xD
    by the way, hello there!

  4. Oh man, I love Primark. It’s like our Forever21, but much cheaper. Although a lot of the dresses are missing belts & things like that…whatever, it’s the cheapest place to shop for clothes aren’t even drab looking. So many adorable bags & accessories, it’s hard not to buy everything…ahha for me at least. Ew, Hollister..hahaha over priced preppy clothes from China that never change in style! Honestly, I was told they’re priced the same as ours is…but in pounds, which is ridiculous. Better off with H&M (which is really cheap back home, but priced the same with pounds here…so not so cheap for me ahaha).

I’m glad that interview of yours went well though. Especially after a glum one, it’s a nice change. Gave you good vibes & hope that all is not lost!

& I absolutely agree with your sentiments on the Bieber…..fangirls these days. There’s so much crappy music these days with this influx of boy bands making a comeback…I don’t know what happened…but this is why I don’t listen to the radio & just listen to music that has a following of its own, without the 10 year olds crying over Bieber. I wish he at least changed the way we listened to music or something more significant. I still don’t even understand why he is significant. I’ll never understand!!

  5. Congratulations on the job! πŸ™‚ It’s always exciting to find out they’re going to give you a chance because it means you didn’t make a fool of yourself in the interview (I always fear I make a fool of myself in the interview).

I recently became a small fan for Justin, and by that I mean that I really respect his work and what he has done here recently with a little girl who has cancer. It’s really touching, and whilst researching about it and such. And he still sees her… He didn’t get paid; he did it because he wanted to… I had to force my distaste for his music out of my mind to see that just because I don’t like his music doesn’t mean I also don’t like his character. Now Taylor Swift? That’s a totally different story. πŸ˜›

  6. Sounds like the time off has been doing you good.
Fingers crossed, hope you get the job!
Sometimes we can find something in the places you least expect it – I recently bought a few items from a clothing store I rarely step into. Surprising.
Ha ha, I’m becoming a fan of Justin bieber. We don’t have such fan encounters in SA… I find it so interesting. If only we did.
