American Pizza Slice Liverpool

American Pizza Slice Liverpool

I’m a big fan of supporting local businesses. I’m not sure what it is but it just feels so much better than handing your money over to a large chain company. So, when I won a Independent Liverpool membership card (a card which gets you discounts at a range of independent shops and restaurants) I vowed to discover and support more local businesses.

I’ve already mentioned LEAF, Nolita Cantina and Lucha Libre before on the blog, but today I’m going share with you my my favourite pizza takeaway; American Pizza Slice.

After walking past American Pizza Slice on Whitechapel (city centre) on numerous occasions and nosing in at the huge 18″ pizzas, we finally decided to pop in for a slice a few month back. I love the fact you can purchase just a slice or two and sit outside their shop to eat them. It reminds me of being in Italy.

The pizza got our seal of approval, which is saying something coming from Mr & Mrs Pizza Connoisseur, and so we decided to order from there next time we had a pizza delivery. Again, we weren’t disappointed.

Their speedy delivery is unbeatable; I once waited less than 20 minutes! And the delivery staff always know where my flat is, which saves the usual awkward phone call with the delivery driver asking me if I live in student accommodation, and me proceeding to smash my head into the wall.

When it comes to pizza topping choices, the variety is huge. My favourite is BBQ pulled pork and caramelised onion (*drools*). Also, something very important to note is that the cheese to sauce ratio is always on point. I get quite picky when it comes to pizza, because if there is more sauce than cheese it’s ruined, but American Pizza Slice never fail to get the perfect ratio.

The pizzas are so good that every time I think about taking a photo of one I’ve already eaten it. You are lucky that I remembered this time around!

If you are in the Liverpool area I highly recommend you go check American Pizza Slice out. And if you want an Independent Liverpool membership card you can buy one from here.

**You probably think this is a sponsored/collaboration post, but I can ensure you it isn’t. It’s just one girl pouring her heart out of a love of great pizza.**

Love pizza? Why not check out the recipe for my favourite homemade pizza dough?

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. I admit, I’ve never bought much or anything from independent businesses, especially pizza – it’s always pizza hut or dominos for me! But that pizza looks lovely, makes me want to find out more local businesses. 20 minutes for the pizza??? It takes PH/Dominos like 40 mins!

I plan on going to liverpool soon in a few months, will definitely be checking it out!

It’s so easy to just hop on the Dominos website and order from them because you know what you are getting. But now I’ve found a decent local takeaway restaurant I doubt I’ll go back to Dominos. Or at least, not so often!

If you need any more Liverpool recommendations just let me know! I’m happy to help. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oh my those pizzas look GOOOOOOOOD. Caramelised onion too!!! Great choice! I wish we had decent pizza places near us ๐Ÿ™

Although I can’t really express much of an opinion on Pizza (I can’t stand cheese :/), the idea of making use of a lot of local businesses sounds great! I actually thought American Pizza Slice was a full chain because I’d seen another one in the suburbs! It sounds like you enjoy going, at any rate!

The Independent Liverpool card sounds like a really neat idea – I’m normally one to conform to the big chains, and being vegetarian means I’m always wary of where to try, but I saw that The Egg was on the website, and that’s somewhere I’ve been excited to try for a while – I also saw lots of tea shops that I’d heard of, so even without buying a membership, I think the website itself seems really useful for finding places to try out. (Your post on Leaf has definitely got me interested in going there!)

Cheese is my favorite food, but I totally understand if you don’t like it. My dad doesn’t like it either.

I think there are two branches in Liverpool. One in the city and one somewhere else. I guess they’ve just got to keep up with the demand!

My other half is a vegetarian so I know where you are coming from. Often there is limited choice for veggies and sometimes vegetarian dishes are prepared with meat dishes, which is disgusting. I also fancy trying The Egg. I’d highly recommend Leaf. I’m sure they do some veggie options food wise.

  4. Mmmmmmmm yum. Reading this made me hungry. Iโ€™ll be sure to check this place out when I come by. Weโ€™ve booked our tickets to Manchester for next June and weโ€™ll be visiting Liverpool first! Iโ€™ll be sure to send you an email when weโ€™ve sorted out some accommodation. ๐Ÿ˜€

I never really thought about the sauce + cheese ratio but I get super disappointed if there is not enough cheese for the sauce on a pizza. Cheese is so important! :9

This has made my day Georige! I can’t believe you are coming to Liverpool! I am beyond excited already. If you need any advice about accommodation just get in touch, whether it be in Manchester or Liverpool. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. You really love pizza ๐Ÿ™‚ It looks fab.

How nice to find a really good pizza place. I prefer home made stuff but it’s great to have somewhere to order good food if you’re exhausted or for whatever reason not into cooking. We have a service called online pizza where you can order online and they take it home to you but the one in our area sadly stopped doing gluten free pizzas. ๐Ÿ™
Pizza with pulled pork is a cool variation! We make pulled pork a lot at home but the ready made ones are always too sweet in my opinion.

  7. Supporting local businesses are great because it brings in hope for the community without letting big corporations taking control. Would the 18″ pizzas be a personal pizza by any chance ;)? I always like to enjoy myself in a couple of slices of pizza. It’s enough to be full while not feeling like you overate.

  8. You sure love Pizza!

I have always been ordering off Dominoes, but recently since my birthday, I have fallen in love with the pizza from Sbarro. I love the idea of getting a single huge slice than the whole pizza because it works perfectly for a person like me who is trying to lose weight!

I wish I can visit UK some day which is a huge dream for me and if and when I do, I’ll surely make it a point to go to Liverpool!

Pizza is pretty much my favourite food, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to takeaways. That looks delicious though – if I’m ever in Liverpool I’ll be sure to try it.

Ham and pineapple is my favourite pizza. Or pepperoni and pineapple (I’m one of those people who has fruit on pizza haha!)
