A review of 2014 – my life

A review of 2014 my life

Happy 2015! I’m ready for a productive and (hopefully) successful year. Bring it on!

I can’t welcome in 2015 without taking a look back at 2014. It was a bit of an odd year for me really. It was full of ups and downs. Some very happy memories were made, but I also had to deal with some home truths about my health. Overall, I feel like I’m dealing with it all pretty well.

Here are some of the notable moments from 2014 (the good and the not so good) with links to relevant posts:

  • Celebrated my 20th birthday – the first birthday I didn’t spend with my parents. πŸ™
  • Visited Oxford to see the consultant working on my legal case – he has been a fantastic addition to my case but it was a difficult day finding out about my future in relation to my hip.
  • Finished my second year of university with a 1st.
  • Bought my first DSLR camera (there was a post on this but it has since disappeared into cyberspace).

When I look back at resolutions I set for myself last year I realised that I wasn’t very successful (apart from the one resolution on blogging more), so this year I’ve decided to set myself some goals that are easier to measure. I will either accomplish them or I won’t. I hope to share these goals with you next week, once I finalised them.

On a final, slightly off topic, note, I’ve uploaded a new layout. A new layout for the new year. I’d love to know what you all think!

  3. Happy New Year, Holly!

Despite of some challenges in 2014, at least you’re dealing with them the best way you could :). For some reason, I always thought you were a couple of years older! But yay, we’re both 20! Congratulations on finishing your 2nd year with a 1st :). Your hard work paid off! Hopefully that Etsy store of yours continue strong as well :).

Good luck with your new set of goals for 2015 and wish you the best out of the year to come~

      Happy New Year!

Haha people always think I’m older than I actually am. It’s really strange because I still feel so young!

  4. Sounds like a year of ups and downs! I hope there were more ups though! I hope 2015 is a bright and prosperous year for you x

  5. Happy New Year lovely, I hope this year brings lots of happiness for you! xo

  6. Happy new year, Holly! I hope your hip is gonna be okay now. Lots of positive thoughts on your Etsy shop too! πŸ˜€

I really like the new layout, it’s nice to have a change. It’s wonderful that you were able to do so much this year. I wish you all the best for 2015 and hope you have a really great year. πŸ˜€

  8. Lovely layout! It’s so simple and fresh, great job!
It sounds like 2014 was a busy year for you, and although the legal and health problems certainly sounds awful for you to have to experience, the good parts of the year seem amazing! Hope 2015 brings all sorts of fun your way!

So much seems to have happening to you in 2014! Despite your problems it deems like you got to visit many places and kept doing new and fun things. And congratulations on 5 year of dating!
I also celebrated my 20th birthday, and it was also my first without my parents. Sort of sad without the cake and family gathering, but I still had a great time.
    Happy New Year!

      Happy New Year!

My parents came to visit me a few days before my birthday last year and they brought me a cake that my mum had baked. I felt very grateful for that little bit of normality.

  10. I’m really happy you had an amazing 2014! I personally think that New Year’s Resolutions are really hard to accomplish. Maybe we should try “Remembersolutions” where we put our wonderful memories in a jar. πŸ™‚

LOL I have a tendency to forget my New Year’s Resolutions within the first 24 hours unless I spend hours obsessing over them. I still haven’t figured out what exactly I want to accomplish this coming year – beyond becoming more comfortable in my own skin. πŸ˜› It sounds as if 2014 was a eventful year for you, and I hope that 2015 brings more of the same. πŸ™‚

Haha when I looked back at my resolutions for 2014 I realised that I had forgot about half of them. I’m more hopeful for my 2015 one.

Happy new year! The new layout looks great πŸ˜€

Even though 2014 was filled with ups and downs, I hope there were more good parts! That’s awesome that you got a job and started an Etsy business last year. Also, congrats on finishing your second year with a 1st! It looks like you took some fun trips too!

I wasn’t very successful with my goals from last year either, but oh well, there’s always another year to try πŸ™‚
