Graduation LJMU Holly Pryce

This week was pretty special.

I graduated!

I’d been looking forward to the day for months, but it was so much better than I expected. I felt incredible walking around in my gowns. “Look at me! I have a 1st class degree!”. It’s the only day you can get away with it, so I made sure I enjoyed it!

Well, it’s the only day you can do it if that’s your only graduation, right? If I were to do a masters or a PhD I’d get to graduate again.

After months of saying I didn’t want to continue with education I think I might have changed my mind. I think the stress of university was worth it, and I would like to go back.

But I’m still going to take a year out to give myself a break and really decide what I want to do in life, and save some money just in case I do go back to uni.

I’ll be sharing a full post about my graduation day on Thursday.

Other than my graduation, it’s just been another typical week as an unemployed graduate. Tyrone and I did take some time out to see Terminator Genisys at the cinema, which isn’t as bad as the reviews make it out to be. I quite enjoyed it.

In terms of the blog, I have decided to change my email subscription campaigns from emails each time a new post is published (three emails a week) to a weekly newsletter which is sent out on a Friday, and contains links to all the posts that were published that week. I’ll also be sharing other blog related news and sharing my favourite posts from other bloggers.

So jump on board and sign up with your email in the sidebar!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Congratulations again, Holly! :3 Seeing your photo makes me wished I’d been able to walk for my master’s, but alas I couldn’t since it was all the way in Michigan, and I didn’t have the funding to go all the way over there to walk for it. Oh well. I’m just glad I finished the degree, haha!

And I’m with you on the getting more education XD I’d felt the same way after my BA and MA that I don’t want to do any more schooling, but the desire to get a phD is lingering in me, and I may just go for that when I’m older XD

    • Thank you! It’s a shame you couldn’t make it to your graduation.

For the last two years of university all I wanted to do was get a job, and now I’m out here in the real world all I want to do is go back into education.

  2. Congrats on graduating!!!! You look great!

My partner graduated twice (his mum made him, haha). Once when he did his undergrad, and second when he did his Honors (which perhaps is still undergrad? I have no idea!). I’m looking foward to your graduation post on Thursday! You look lovely in your gown and dress.

  3. Congratulations! xx

  4. Congratulations on graduating with a first! With the hard work you put it, you definitely deserved to go all out as much as you can. The more education you get, the better. I always think education is valuable; and trying to make a career out of it is just as important too. I heard Arnold was in the new Terminator movie. It’s like a throwback in modern time XD.

    • Holly

Thank you! I hate the fact that there are so few jobs relating to my degree out there, which is why I want to go back to university and get some more useful skills. I’m considering a masters in computer science.

      Arnold is amazing. Always is!

  5. Cat

Congrats again on graduating! You look great in your gown, and your dress is so cute πŸ™‚ I think that’s great that you’re giving yourself a break to figure things out. Sometimes I miss college life, but I also like where I’m working now. It can be hard to decide!

(By the way, you look a lot like your mom!)

    • Holly

      Thank you!

I’d be enjoying life away from university more if I had a job. At least uni kept me occupied!

Haha, I think I look like my mum too but everyone else says I look more like my dad!

  6. Congratulations lovely! xx

  7. Congratulations on graduating! I love all the graduation pictures I’m seeing this week, it just gives me so much nostalgia!

Yeah, I remember saying that I didn’t want to continue education, but I’m definitely considering a Masters!

I’m going to see Terminator next week πŸ™‚

    • I think we just get into this situation towards the end of our undergraduate degree where there’s nothing worse than the thought of more studying. But it’s been a couple of months and I miss it a lot.

  8. Congrats on graduation! You look so pretty in that dress. I am obsessed with that color, my bed sheets, laptop shell, iPad shell and agenda are all that color. πŸ˜› I went into university wanting to pursue my Master’s but I figure if I get a job and have the chance to do so for work then I will, but for now another two years really feels are to give up for a Masters. Considering I graduate in 2017, going till 2019 makes me feel uneasy. I have never done a newletter for my email. I feel like no one would sign up. Maybe one day when I get a bigger following I will. For now I will focus on trying to get some side projects.

    • Thank you! I love the colour too. I was so grateful to have blue gowns because the dress looked great with them.

I wish I had a job to give up! If I get a good job then I might not want to leave, but I’m still stuck in this situation in a years time I’ll be off back to uni!

I was quite surprised when people started signing up to mine. I like to provide lots of ways for people to subscribe.

  9. Jamie

Congratulations on graduating! I still have a long ways to go. I’m sure in time you’ll find that you actually miss Uni and wouldn’t mind going back. Though, I could be wrong.

  10. Congrats Holly for your graduation!
I know how exciting this day is! I was so glad that from my batch onward the university had asked all colleges to compulsorily hold a graduation ceremony. Do you have a picture of that gown you are wearing without that graduation robe over it? I totally loved it! Share it on Instagram if you have it πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
