Geography Ball

The job search continues.

I had a phone call from a recruitment agency on Monday who had been my CV online and thought I’d be perfect for a particular job. Even if I never hear anything back, I found that phone call so reassuring. It was like someone telling me that I am skilled and I will find a job that will utilise these skills. It was a big pick-me-up.

Today I booked a holiday for Ty and myself. We are going on a Mediterranean cruise in June! It’s was a last minute decision, but it was too good of a deal to pass up on. We will be going to Mallorca, France (for Monaco), Italy (for Rome and Livorno), Corsica (for Ajaccio) and Spain (for Palamos).

I am stupidly excited for this trip. It’s on one of my favourite cruise ships which is actually due to retire at the end of the season. We’ve booked excursions for Monaco (because Ty is a huge F1 fan) and Rome. I’ve been to Rome to I will be playing tour guide that day.

The other ports of call look like you can just get off the ship and explore the port town without having to pay for an excursion. From Livorno you can go to Florence and Pisa, but I’ve already been and wouldn’t want to go back just to do the same trip. I’d like to go to Florence for a long weekend sometime in the future so I can really explore the city.

So I guess that will interfere with the job search, but I just couldn’t resist another chance to travel! I will share all about the trip on the blog when I return. Expect lots of photographs!

Today my cousin came over and we went shopping in an attempt to find shoes to go with the bridesmaid’s dresses. We didn’t have much luck but we had a lovely afternoon regardless.

The top picture is from my geography ball last weekend. I promised to share outfit pictures, but my oily/acne prone face ruined them. Here’s what I could salvage.

Have a great weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Oh my, I wish I could go on a cruise! You guys are going to have such a lovely time! Who cares if it interferes with your job search πŸ˜‰ Can’t wait to see all the photos! I’m actually ridiculously excited for your trip! Ha. Might be living vicariously through you…just a little πŸ˜‰

    • Holly

Thank you! Haha I’m glad you are excited too. I promise to share lot of pictures. πŸ˜€

  2. Have fun on the cruise x
I would love to go to Monaco, I’m a huge F1 fan too. Today is race day in Monaco, can’t wait πŸ™‚

    • Holly

Thank you! Tyrone was watching the F1 qualifying as I booked the holiday, which was pretty awesome. We are planning on walking around the circuit together. πŸ™‚

  3. Elena

The dress looks really nice in the picture, I love the style of the top of it. And it is good that the call gave you some reassurance, I hope (and believe) that you can find a job!
The vacation sounds awesome. I have never been on A cruise but it is such a smart idea. You get to see so many places and relax and tan, all on the same trip :-p I hope you have fun!

    • Holly

Thank you! I like it because I don’t have a very big chest so high neck dresses/tops work well on me!

I just love waking up in a new country every day. πŸ™‚ Such a good way to discover new places that you may have never thought about travelling to.

  4. Michelle

Have fun on your trip and good luck finding a job! I would go on a cruise, but they can be expensive, but glad you were able to get a good deal!

    • Holly

Thank you! Cruise are generally quite expensive but we’ve booked with a company that offers low-key, not-too-fancy type of cruises. Plus I got it for half the retail price by waiting until the last minute and watching the price for a few days. πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh, I’m so jealous of your cruise trip! I know you’re going to have a blast! I really need to go on a cruise of my own πŸ˜€

Good luck with the job hunt! Those can be a pain, but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that you land an awesome gig soon!

And you look so pretty in your ball photo! Love your dress and the . . . thing around your arm? Can’t remember what it’s called, and I don’t think it’s a shawl . . .

    • Holly

      Thank you!

It’s kind of a scarf/shawl thing, haha. I folded it over to make it thinner so I could just drape it over my arms.

  6. Enjoy the cruise, I bet you it’ll help refresh you ready for a super push on job hunting when you get back πŸ™‚

Love what you wore for the ball btw, you look gorgeous x

    • Holly

Thank you. πŸ™‚ I really hope it will take my mind off the job hunt and all the stress that comes with it.

  7. […] I’d better come clean. In the post where I announced I was going on a cruise (probably prouder than I would announce if I was getting married – […]
