Times Square New York

I’m back!

Well, that was over in a flash.

I had the most wonderful time in New York, even though I started with a cold pretty much as soon as I got off the plane. I was so worried about my hip holding up that I never even thought about coping with a cold. I’m happy to say that my hip didn’t cause me any problems what so ever. My steroid injections were the miracle I needed.

We only had three full days in New York, with the other two days travelling, but we made the most of it and I got to do everything on my New York bucket list. Well, expect for a Broadway show, but that was because it was over $350 each for a decent show because it was the holidays. And I didn’t want to go and see something I wasn’t interested in just for the sake of it.

I even got to see some famous sites that weren’t on my list, like Grand Central Station and Flushing Meadows. I was so happy when I drove past the remains of the 1964 World’s Fair at Flushing Meadows  on the way from the airport because I’m fascinated by World’s Fairs.

Okay, geeky/sad moment over.

I’m planning on writing a post for each day, with photos, and sharing them every Tuesday for the next four weeks, so stay tuned if that sort of thing interests you. I’ll also be sharing my tips and advice for anyone else wanting to visit.

I’m so happy I loved New York as much as I thought I would. I’m dying to return as soon as possible and take Tyrone with me as I’m sure he will love it as much as me.

I don’t think I ever switched into New York time because I was getting up early and going to bed at about 8am. It was my cold that got the better of me. I’m heading back to Liverpool tomorrow though as I have exam workshops, coursework deadlines and an interview. Yes, an interview! It’s for an internship I applied for as a research and insight intern. It sounds quite similar to my part time job and I really hope I get it because it will help to give me new skills geared towards what I want to do in life. Plus, it’s paid!

Have a great weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. THIS POST HAS MADE ME SO EXCITED BECAUSE MY TRIP TO NEW YORK IS SOON!

Sorry about the capitals. I’m just very excited, as I’m sure you can tell. I’m really glad your hip didn’t cause any troubles. That would have been the worst.

Ah, man! I really want to see a Broadway show – I hope it’s not too expensive when I go. I will definitely stay tuned for your upcoming posts. Can’t wait for your tips and advice – especially about the tipping culture over there 🙂

    Good luck in your interview!

The tipping was a bit weird but you kind of get use to it. The bill normally comes with suggested tips at the bottom and it usually suggests 18% but 15% is okay too. Put it this way we didn’t get anyone chasing us down the street after tipping 15%!!

  2. Cat

I’m glad you had such a great time in New York and that you covered most of your bucket list! I look forward to the upcoming entries 🙂 That’s awesome that the steroid injections have been working too. I hope they continue to!

Good luck on the interview! I hope you get the internship!

  3. Glad you had a grand weekend and that you got to do everything on your bucket list. Yay! ^^

Thanks! I think I’m going to have to make another New York bucket list because I discovered so much more to do there!
