Blogger meet up Liverpool cupcakes

*Insert rant about how much uni work I have to do in such a short space of time*

Seriously though, two 3,000 words report, one 2,000 word literature review, one seen question (possible more) and exam revision, all to get done in the space of a month.

Oh, and I should note that the reports are both on field trips I wasn’t able to attend for medical reasons.

It’s not that I don’t have the time to blog. Right now I just don’t have the inspiration. I’m doing the best I can, and that’s all I can do.

Although I’m no longer bothered about geography I still want a good degree mark, and so I’m working as hard as I can. If my blog suffers then so be it. I’ll have plenty of time to blog when I’m unemployed.

This week has been quite mixed with lots of things going on.

On Thursday I had to give a 15 minute presentation on Amazon River Dolphins. I felt confident about it and all seemed to be going well until I finished and realised that I was 5 minutes short. I honestly don’t know how because I’d practised like a million times and I’d always take around 13/14 minutes with time for questions at the end. I felt so downhearted.

Friday I had to go to Walsall, where my boss lives, for work purposes. Well, that’s if you can call a treasure hunt around a park ‘work’. In the end I spent around 6 hours of my day on trains or at train stations because the trains were so messed up. Needless to day I was exhausted when I got back to Liverpool that evening and went straight to bed (…after Gogglebox :P ).

Yesterday I went to another blogger meet up in Liverpool. It was great to meet some new bloggers and eat delicious cupcakes. I will be sharing a post about the event in the week along with pictures of the goodie bags. Yes, that’s plural. There were THREE goodie bags!

Finally, I’d like to say Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mum. My mum continuously puts up with my moaning and is always the first person I go to if I have a problem. Both she and my dad have always provided the most incredible support with my hip condition and I can’t wait to go to New York with them in a few weeks time. The three musketeers will be back to our travelling adventures very soon!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. I have four assignments due next week! Ugh. College. I’m also ranting to anyone who will pay attention to me ;) I’m sure your presentation was amazing either way! I always find that my practice time and my live presenting time is always has a couple of minutes difference. Not ideal. I keep hearing about people going to blog meet ups! I really, really need to get my ass into gear and to go to one myself! They always sound like so much fun :)

Best of luck with your assignments!

Blogger events are really great, but the best thing about them, in my eyes, is the fact they have improved my confidence. Just a few years ago I would have been scared to go to something like that. Now I don’t think twice. :)

  2. I really feel you with the uni work, I remember the struggle clearly with cold sweats! It’ll all be worth it in the end! Just catching up on your blog before the NWBlogger meet up :) Have a great week! x

That’s what I keep telling myself. Even though I’m no longer interested in the subject I will be happy to have a degree to show off, haha!

  3. I feel you about the college work. Good luck on finishing everything soon! I hope we get everything done soon!

  4. Cat

Wow, you have a lot to do this month! Good luck with them!

I hope ending your presentation short isn’t counted against you. I feel like most people have some sort of habit that kicks in when they present. I know some people speak a bit faster without noticing, and I think I have a tendency to do that too!

Spending 6 hours just on trains sounds really tiring :( I’m glad you got to go to another blogger meet-up though. Looking forward to your post about it!

      Thanks. :)

I’m hoping that they mark my presentation on content rather than length. I really put a lot of effort into it.

  5. ouch quite a lot of writings you got there. i was about to say it’s possible to do the 3,000 words report in like 1-2 days each because i did that too and then i realized…. you didn’t attend the field trips …. now that sucks. :(
sometimes i’m glad that my major doesn’t require such assignments because i don’t think i’m going to enjoy it. i like writing but writing them so frequently will bore me. then again i have deadlines and projects and uh, with design, you have to submit progress and sketches every week -__- the situation sucks too.

i think it’s perfectly okay to take a break from blogging and focus on what’s more important. i don’t really have inspirations lately either but i try to make good use of what enters my head. but yeah, real life is more important….

anyway, good luck with everything! i hope everything works out finely :D

Yep. I mean it was all on medical grounds. Not like I was skipping the trips because I didn’t feel like it, haha! It’s tough have to catch up with the work but I know I can do it!

      Thank you. :)
