The Weekend Blog | Friendships

This week has been a little hit and miss, but I wanted to kick of with starting about the positive aspects of my week.

Of course, the highlight of my week of meeting up with Georgie, and I wrote a post all about the meet up which you can read here. I’m really enjoying following along with the rest of her European adventures on Instagram and Twitter, but it’s giving me some serious wanderlust. Fortunately it’s just over a week until I jet off to Lanzarote!

Another highlight of my week was my good friend from back home, Leander, coming over to Liverpool to visit. She’s only been to Liverpool once or twice before so it was great to show her around all my favourite spots (basically all of the comic shops) and to take her for lunch at my beloved American Pizza Slice.

We have one of those friendships where we can go for years without seeing each other, but as soon as we meet up it’s like we’ve never been apart. She also filled me with wanderlust as she’s heading out to Australia for a few weeks very soon.

The only downside to the day was that I had a pretty nasty fall in the middle of Liverpool. It was raining and the floor of Liverpool One is lethal when wet, so I slipped right over. Fortunately, I fell on my right side. If it had been my left (with my hip dysplasia and all that) I probably would have ended up in hospital.

I’m quite bruised today, and I hurt my wrist, but I think the embarrassment of it all was the worst thing about the incident. Luckily I had Leander with me to pick me up, and some lovely strangers came to make sure I was okay (see I told you Liverpool was great).

So, today I’m just resting up after my fall, and next week I’m going to be spending lots of time getting ready for my holiday. Hopefully my huge bruise on my hip will go down before my trip because it’s not the most sexy accessory to wear with a bikini!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. Aww, I hope you feel better now.

  2. I hope you and Georgie had a great time togther – it sounds like you did! I hope you enjoy Lanzarote too – I think after these last few rainy days we’ve had you deserve some sunshine!
Sorry to hear about your fall, though I’m pleased to hear it wasn’t as bad as it maybe could have been. The Liverpool One floor is awful, no grip whatsoever. I’m glad people helped you though.
Fingers crossed your bruise will go down in time!

  3. Omg that totally blows :( I hope your hip heals soon. I almost fell down the stairs at the Tower of London today! Granted, I looked away for a split second instead of watching my step – it was pouring today and it didn’t help. Falls are always embarrassing when it happens in public. I am still scarred and embarrassed by the time I fell down a small set of stairs in the school library. I know my skirt went up and I flashed some people, I landed face first so it wasn’t cool. I actually have a scar on my elbow from where it scraped across the carpet when I fell. Sucks, but I have a bit of a laugh about it now. As I’ve heard, if you don’t laugh you will cry. D:

Can’t wait to see photos from your trip! The weather will be much better than how it is over here haha :D

  4. It’s really cool that you had a chance to meet up with Georgie! The one of the perks of blogging kicks in when it comes to travelling; aka. meeting opportunities! Catching up with friends is great and keeps the connection stronger than ever. Hope you’ll have a quick recovery from the fall. Have fun preparing for your next trip~

I would love to meet up with bloggers on my travels. I just need to visit the places they live!

      Thank you. :)
