The Weekend Blog
14th December 2014
Guess who is home for Christmas?!
It feels so good to have a break, even though I have tonnes of uni work to do ready for January. I submitted my last piece of coursework for 2014 this week, and while I wasn’t feeling particularly proud of it I was certainly glad to see the back of it.
I also had my final field trip of 2014 on Thursday. We went to a forest and some green spaces in Liverpool. It wouldn’t have been too bad if it hadn’t been snowing, hailing and raining, not too mention ridiculously cold, but because it was it was probably the most miserable I have ever been.
The only think that kept me going through that field trip was the thought on spending the evening with my two favourite pensioners…
…Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.
After getting in from my field trip I showered and grabbed a quick dinner before heading over to the Echo Arena to meet my parents. It’s the first time I’ve seen them since October so I was pretty excited.
I worried that seeing The Who for a second time wouldn’t be quite as special as the first, however I had nothing to worry about. Once again they were incredible!! The setlist for Liverpool was a dream, and they even performed My Generation for the first time on tour since 2009. I also got to see Pete Townshend smashing his guitar when it broke – something he’s famous for but doesn’t do on purpose anymore.
I’ll be sharing a full review on the blog in the coming week.
On Friday my parents picked me up and brought me back to Shropshire ready for the Christmas break. I spent Saturday helping to decorate the house for Christmas (including that gorgeous fireplace), as well as eating my way through the well stocked fridge. I’m looking forward to the next few weeks just relaxing, doing a bit of uni work and catching up with my family and friends.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
