The Sunday Blog: I’m employed again

27th April 2014

Good news! I have a job!

On Friday I had an interview for the position of student blogger that I applied for. I must have interviewed well because on Friday evening I found out that I had got the job!

Basically I will be working for a few hours a week, writing about my life as a student. I will also be helping the company I work for my finding great examples of marking strategies that I think will appeal to students. I think this job is going to really allow me to be creative. It’s a whole other world from working in retail.

The advantage of this job is that I can work from home. With the recent issues that have been arising from my DDH (read about it here and here), the ability to work from home is just perfect. Right now there is no chance that I would be able to take on a job in retail, so I am completely grateful to have this job. For once my luck has turned. :)

This week I had an appointment to see the doctor that helped me when I was having serious issues with my hip. He’s referred me to a physiotherapist who in turn will refer me to a consultant in Liverpool. I’m hoping this will all lead to x-rays and a treatment plan. I’m getting sick and tired of not being as active as I usually am.

I probably won’t be blogging again here until after my exams are finished. My first one is tomorrow, my second is the day after, and my last one is a week after the second one. I have a lot to revise and not a lot of time in which to do so. I’m also starting my job on Monday so I’ve also got to factor in some time to dedicate to that. But, once my exams are over I will be putting the final touches to my new layout (it’s currently a work in progress) and back to blogging, hopefully more regularly.

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

Congrats on getting the job! They got back to you quick! That’s great that you’ll be able to work from home :)

I hope things will go well with the physiotherapist. Good luck on your exams too!

  2. Good luck on your exams, Holly!! Hopefully you’ll finally get that treatment you need to be more active again.

Congrats on your new job too! Sounds like a nice break & change of pace from your previous job like you mentioned. Working from home must be really nice & it’ll definitely allow you to be more creative when you’re most comfortable.

    Congrats on getting the job!

Hopefully being able to work at home will also help you focus on your treatment. Best of luck with your exams! I’m also looking forward to the new layout. :D

Congratulations on the job position! It sounds like a great opportunity to get some quality experience and it’s great that you get to work from home. I’ve held several positions that gave me that flexibility. It really comes in handy when balancing several classes with the job.

Also, wishing you the best of luck on your exams!

    • Thank you! :)

I’m hoping that the flexibility will allow me that extra time I need to focus on getting me getting back into good physical shape.
