Reading Habits

A big thank you to Mutay for the tag! Here are my answers to some questions on reading habits.

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Usually I read in bed. Sometimes I read in the living room but my bed is more comfortable than the sofa.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I read on a Kindle – the greatest bookmark of all! But when I do read a physical book I always use a random piece of paper, or what ever happens to be lying around.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or certain number of pages?

I can just stop. Mid-page or mid-chapter.

Do you eat or drink while reading?

Sometimes I’ll eat breakfast while reading, but this is quite rare.

Do you watch TV or listen to music while reading?

Nope. I can’t multi-task like that without missing parts of the book I’m reading.

One book at a time or several at once?

Several at once.

Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere. I particularly love reading at the beach.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Depends if I’m on my own or not.

Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?

Yes. If I find that a book is getting to descriptive I skip pages.

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Breaking the spine. Although I hate it when I do that and my book falls apart.

Do you write in your books?

The only books I write in are textbooks that I own. But recently I’ve invested in some Clear Notes which are much better to use than writing in books and destroying them!

I literally just started reading a new book about 30 minutes before reading this post πŸ™‚ what books are you currently reading?

    • Holly

I’ve just finished reading Four Blind Mice by James Patterson so I will be starting the next one in the series (The Big Bad Wolf) very soon.

  2. I wish I had time to read for enjoyment. Reading textbooks or manuals at school really sucks the fun out it!

Have you ever tried listening to audiobooks? It’s interesting when an author is reading their own book.

Clear notes – where have you been all my life?!

Once September comes all I will be reading is textbooks. I’m making the most out of reading fiction during the summer break.

I’ve never tried audiobooks but I think they would be quite relaxing to listen to.

this makes me miss the times where i used to read at least several pages before i went to bed. i used to be able to do that…now, not so. i wasted my time playing computer games before finally dozing off haha this is why i finish books slower now.

and wow i’m impressed you can read several books at once πŸ˜€ that’s amazing! i want that kind of attention span and concentration level too haha i tried that once but i feel like it’s unfair for the book so i dedicate myself on one at a time.

I am exactly the same! I go to read but then end up playing Candy Crush until I’m out of lives (can’t believe I just admitted that!!).
