Not so sweet dreams
21st May 2012
On Saturday I went shopping with my mum. My dad was at my brother’s house helping him to fit his new kitchen, so my mum and I decided to have a nice girly day together. My mum treated me to some new clothes. I was so grateful as I have tried my hardest recently not to go shopping. I don’t have much money now that I don’t have a job, so I’ve tried to avoid spending what I do have. I managed three months without going clothes shopping. I call that impressive!
I got a blue dress for the summer and a cardigan to go with it. I also got a vest and a play suit. I have wanted a play suit for quite a while now. I saw some nice ones when I was in Portugal last year but they weren’t cheap and I was convinced I wouldn’t wear it that much. Anyway, I found a really pretty one in H&M for a reasonable price. I paid for that one myself. I can’t expect my mum to buy everything.
After shopping my mum took me for lunch in Starbucks. She knows how much I love it there. My mum had a latte, I had a chocolate creme frappuccino and we had cheese and steak sandwiches to eat.
On Saturday night I had a horrible dream (more like a nightmare) in which I went to visit my student accommodation and it was nothing but a 16 storey wooden structure where you had to climb the frame to get to your room. It was terrifying and I was convinced I was going to fall off the side and die. I didn’t think I was scared of heights but that dream has proved me wrong.
The reason why I had this nightmare is because before I went to sleep I was stressing about student finance for university. I have less than 2 weeks to get it all sorted, but the website doesn’t seem to want to let me apply. I called the head office and asked for them to send me the forms, which they haven’t done, so I have had to print them off myself. All 40 pages! We’ve filled them in and they have been sent. All I can do now is wait. If they don’t get it sorted in time, it’s their fault not mine. I asked for help and they failed to give it to me.
I suppose it’s out of my hands now.
Today I had a mock ICT exam. What a joke! We had around 35 minutes less than we should have done for a real paper and one of the questions was related to a topic on the Computing AS course. Not the ICT course. Computing and ICT are actually two very different subjects so how are we suppose to know the answer? If that was the real exam, I would have been so frustrated!
My first exam is about three weeks away and before that I have a biology mock exam, and possibly a geography one. I’m not sure how I’m going to get all my revision complete within such a short space of time. I’ve been working on it for weeks but it’s so difficult balancing my time between three very demanding subjects.
Roll on next year when I only have one subject!
