Monthly Review | June 2016

We’re now half way through 2016 which is a tad bit scary. And I’ve already heard people talking about Christmas! It’s madness.

June is always my favourite month of the year because it’s holiday season and generally the weather is good (although this year it’s been quite mixed). Quite a few things happened last month.

What happened in June…

It was pretty hot at the beginning of the month. I was going to work in dresses, having barbecues at the weekend and sleeping without the duvet on. It was lovely.

Georgie stopped in Liverpool on her European trip and so we got to meet up, which was definitely one of the highlights of the month. You can read all about that here.

And then my good friend from school, Leander, came over to Liverpool to visit. I had a great day catching up with her and showing her around the city, despite the fact I fell on my arse because of the rain. The bruise has finally healed but my wrist is still quite sore.

The UEFA Euro football tournament kicked off and I picked up Turkey in the sweepstake at work. Needless to say my £3 has gone down the drain. I’ve actually really enjoyed watching the football and I’m sure I’ll feel lost when the tournament finishes.

Towards the end of the month Tyrone and I flew out to Lanzarote for a much needed holiday. It really was a fantastic holiday, up until I became ill, and I have to say, it did put a massive downer on the holiday. I’ve had time to think about it and I feel so upset about how ill I was and also the way I was treated by the holiday company. I need another holiday just to get over it.

I’ve got a few posts going up this month about the trip so I hope that writing them will help me to think about the better moments of our week away.

In July…

I’m really looking forward to getting back into my driving lessons this month. I took about 4 weeks off due to my instructor, and then myself, being on holiday, and during this time I really missed it. It’s only a few months until my test now so I’m going to cram in as many lessons as possible.

I don’t have many plans for this month, but I am hoping that the weather improves so we can spend some more time exploring our local area. I’m dying to pack up a picnic and head out for the day.

I will probably go back to Shropshire one weekend this month as I owe my mum a spa day for her birthday, and I’m in dire need of a back massage!

How was June for you? What are your plans for July?

Enjoyed this post? Why not share it...

  1. I hope you get that back massage, we got shoulder and foot massages in Singapore and it was so good to have after walking so much on our holiday.

I read your tweets about the company, that’s so shit. :( I am sure you are doing much better now! :) And it was so fun meeting up haha. :D
