Meet Pete, my iPhone
30th October 2012
After my fiasco with my phone and its alarm failing to wake me up two weeks ago, I decided to treat myself.
I’d like you to meet my new friend. I call him Pete.
He’s an iPhone 4, 16GB. Second hand but in prefect condition.
Technically, it’s my Christmas present. Originally I was going to get myself an iPad for taking lecture notes on, but I really needed a phone more. My HTC has been a nightmare recently and I have been wanting a better phone for a while now.
I bought the phone yesterday after picking it out on Sunday when Tyrone was over for his birthday. We were browsing in CEX and I noticed it on display. I was thinking about purchasing a second hand one off eBay, but at least in this store I could have a look at it before I bought it. I checked it over and it seemed to be scratch free. The shop assistant turned it on to showed me it worked and so I asked her to put it on hold for me so I could purchase it on Monday. The reason why I couldn’t buy it on the day relates to a long story. A story I haven’t had chance to blog about.
Basically, I got my bank card details stolen. Well, I think I did. I’m not sure. It’s complicated. It started with a text message from my bank, except I’m not so sure it was my bank. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I didn’t think ahead, I made a mistake and I cancelled my card. Yesterday was the first time I’ve had access to my money for a week. It’s been a pain in the arse, to say the least.
Anyway, I was very happy to pick him up from the shop yesterday morning, in between two lectures I had. I switched my SIM card over and now he’s working fine. He’s currently got a pink case which is too girly but only temporary. My flat mate Sharon let me borrow a spare until I got myself a case. I order one today; just a cheap blue one. Tyrone said he would get me a better one for Christmas.
I haven’t stopped playing with it yet. I thought the novelty would wear off pretty quick considering I have an iPod touch, but it hasn’t. If you have an iPhone yourself, is there any apps you recommend I get for it?
I’m swamped in assignments at the moment. University is hectic and hard work. I’ll let you know how I’m getting on as the weeks go by.
