Introducing Learn to Code at Empfire

Learn to Code

Are you ready to learn to code?

I’m happy to announce that the first two tutorial series of Learn to Code are now available to download for free from here.

If you read my blog post “Why you should learn to code” I let it slip that I was working on a number of HTML and CSS tutorials that would be available to download in an e-book style format from my blog.

Today, after nearly 6 months of working on these tutorials behind the scenes, I am launching Learn to Code at Empfire.

We all know that there are a million and one blog posts out there providing advice to bloggers about running a successful blog. However, I’ve noticed that barely any of them talk about coding and what goes on beneath the surface of a blog.

Okay, so I found maybe one or two that provided bloggers with a list of “handy” HTML codes, but these posts don’t explain how the codes work, and many were even invalid/outdated.

It was obvious to me there was a gap in the market (I say market, but I’m not selling these) for coding tutorials aimed at teaching bloggers how to code, which seems funny because when I started out so many of us had coding tutorials on our blogs.

Anyway, I got to work writing these tutorials and it’s been one heck of a journey. I’ve learnt so much along the way, and even if nobody downloads them, this will have been one heck of an experience.

But if you do download a copy let me know so I can jump around my bedroom in celebration.

The first two e-books cover the very basics of HTML and CSS. I don’t just provide the code you need, but I also explain exactly what each aspect of the code does so that you can really learn to code.

I am working on two more e-books behind the scenes which will probably not be complete until 2016.

If you are interested in these tutorials, click the “Learn to Code” link at the top of the page.

Enjoy!

Congratulations on releasing them. I am going to download them now and have a look, I bet there is a lot to learn from this so thank you! 😀

I can see how you might have learnt a lot yourself while making them, and I know that there are constantly people looking for help with their coding. If anyone asks where to get some help I will be sure to mention theese!

Thank you!! The content of the first two are pretty basic but I’m hoping that the next ones are a little more informative.

  2. I have downloaded it and now am going to go and read it…. I loved the idea of making an ebook!

Thanks for downloading! I thought an ebook would be a good format for tutorials as all the information is in one place.
