Home from Portugal
27th July 2012
I guess you can see that I didn’t blog while I was in Portugal. Yeah, about that…I was too lazy! Hehe. Not just that but the internet connection wasn’t great and every time I used the internet I had to sit on a stool in the kitchen or on the stair case in the villa, and neither of these were comfortable. To add to this, my phone was just being silly and crashed a few too many times. It drove me insane to the point where I started hitting it.
I had a lovely relaxing holiday, as always. I don’t really have much to say about my trip to Portugal because I’ve been there so many times and I do so little while I’m there. Basically I would get up, eat, go to the beach, eat, go to the pool, eat, sleep. And that’s what happened nearly everyday. It gave me the chance to do a lot of reading though. I read 2 and a half books, and that’s a record for me. I’m a slow reader. I managed to finish one book in about 3 days. And no, it wasn’t a picture book.
I visited a place called Cape St Vincent. It is the most south westerly point in Europe. After that there is nothing until America. I’ve visited this place before but this time my mum wanted to go and watch the sunset. It was pretty spectacular to be honest. It was really busy there and everyone cheered when the sun finally set. I took some pictures that I will eventually upload to my photoblog.
We also found a shopping centre in a town nearby where we were staying. I was so surprised as it was just like a shopping centre in England, but nicer. There were some shops that I am familiar with such as H&M and Primark but also some ones I had never heard of before that I really liked. I’ll definitely be looking them up online later.
I’m very fortunate to have skin that goes a lovely colour in the sun. Even if I burn my skin will go brown after a couple of days, which is lucky as I burnt my belly and the back of my legs. But I didn’t realise how tanned I was until I got home. I’m a completely different colour! My parents must have also tanned well as someone asked them for directions, mistaking them for locals!
Anyway, I’m planning on seeing The Dark Knight Rises on Wednesday. Since I was on holiday I couldn’t go and see it the day it came out which I probably would have done if I was at home. Please don’t tell me what happens. So far I am clueless and I’d like to keep it that way. I’m a big Batman fan and I like surprises!
