Hands up

22nd June 2013

I must start by thanking you all for your tips on controlling acne. I plan on making another doctors appointment, this time with the skin specialist, and getting to the bottom of this. I swear the new cream I am using isn’t working.

I’ve just finished a 7 and a half hour shift. I’ll admit, it was a killer, especially considering I normally only work for three hours a day. My hours seem to get back in to a normal routine after this week and pretty soon it will be holidays time too. I have two days off before Ty and I fly out to Portugal so that will give me time to pack, get my self beach perfect and tidy the house (my parents are flying out to Portugal a week before so I shall have the house to myself).

Work has been boring and tedious recently but I did get 100% on my mystery shopper audit for which I was rewarded the equivalent to Β£5 to spend in store. πŸ™‚ Plus, I’m planning on move back to Liverpool in August. I want to be there for International Beatleweek.

Next Sunday I’m heading back up north to Liverpool, but just for the day. I’m going to see The Who in concert!!! I’m so excited it’s unbelievable. I never thought I would get the chance to see them live but a week tomorrow it’s really happening. The tickets are here and I’m ready to go!

On Monday it was my mum’s birthday. I wanted to get her something different for her birthday and I wanted to really treat her. A few years back she wanted to go to a spa for her birthday but I was too young at the time to have any of the treatments so we set the idea aside. Knowing that she wanted a spa day I discussed it with her but our work schedules seem to clash, so the only day we could go was last Sunday (ironically, it was also Father’s Day!). We found an offer on LastMinute.com for a local spa and booked it.

It was an amazing experience. We had full use of the facilities for the day, including the swimming pool, sauna, gym and steam room. The deal included a 30 minute treatment each. I had a back massage and my mum had a facial. I also had an extra treatment as they were half price on this specific day so I had my toe nails filed and polished. After our treatments, and also included in the spa deal, was afternoon tea. I got the chance to try some herbal tea but it’s really not for me. My mum and I spent the rest of the afternoon in the relaxation room. It was a dark room, lit only by candles, and it contained beds with cushions and duvets on. They were so comfortable that I fell asleep! πŸ˜›

That’s a good idea to see a skin specialist πŸ™‚ My brother did that when he had major acne problems and got on some medication that helped a lot. I’m considering seeing one too, though for a scar that I have.

That’s cool that you’re seeing The Who! I hope you have a great time. It’s always exciting to see a band live that you’re a big fan of.

A spa day sounds really nice! Happy Birthday to your mom! I’ve never been to a spa before, but all of that sounds so nice and relaxing. That’s a really sweet gift!

    • The Who were amazing! I’ve wrote about my experience in my latest blog post. πŸ™‚

Spas are amazing. I highly recommend a trip to one. Now I’ve been I want to go again and again!

  2. Hm, seems like I missed the last post, but it’s good that you’re seeking help from a Dermatologist. Chemical peels, although they are quite painful, are also quite helpful. Some creams take a long time for it to actually work. So it’s often difficult to see results quickly, but it has to do with the ingredients in the cream too.

OH my goodness!!!! Your spa treatment with your mom sounds so amazing. I’m really jealous! That sounds so relaxing. I’ve never experienced something like that before, but … ONE DAY. Also, really jealous of your trip to Portugal! I hope you have so much fun, girl! Take lots of pictures!

    • Chemical peels sound very painful. I am now using Zineryt and I think it is actually making a difference. It’s not a cream but like a roll on solution.

You must go to a spa! Honestly I felt so pampered at the end of it.

Wow 7 1/2 shift?? I’ve never had to work that long before, 6 hours killed me :O.Congrats on passing mystery shopper!! I failed mine :(, so I’m impressed!

Happy belated birthday to your mum! Her birthday present sounds so good!

Portugal is so pretty, you must be so excited to visit, vacations are so incredible. I really need one, haha, so jealous!

The Who sounds so amazing, they’re so great, I can’t believe they still give concerts though, but exciting nevertheless! Have fun there!

    • It certainly is. It will be by 11th time in the country!

I can’t believe they’re doing concerts either. They are so old but they just see age as numbers and not as a lifestyle. They are truly inspiring.
