Double chocolate chip cookies (& baking goals)
11th September 2014
One thing I always tell people is that I am terrible cook, but that I love to bake.
I’m not at a stage where I feel competent enough to create my own recipes, but I know it will come to me some day.
Until then I shall just continue to share with you my favourite tried and tested recipes that I’ve found online or in recipe books.
I recently found the best recipe for double chocolate chip cookies. I even impressed myself with how good these tasted.
The recipe can be found here on the BBC Food website. I can’t recommend this website enough. Pretty much every recipe I have found on here and have used has been a success.
The only alteration I made was that I used white chocolate instead of normal chocolate chips. I actually prefer to take whole chocolate bars and break them into smaller chunks when making cookies. I don’t know, there is just something rustic about it. Plus white chocolate works fantastically well with this recipe.
If you follow the instructions you will notice that after 12 minutes of baking that the cookies are still very soft. Don’t stick them back in the oven! Slide them on to a plate or wire rack to cool and they will harden up in no time.
Enjoy with a glass of milk, of course, and try not to eat them all in one sitting!
Cookies are just one of the items on baking goals list. As I wanted to baked more I decided to create a list of baked goods that I want to make; some that I’ve made before and some that are totally new and challenging to me. This is my list as it stands:
- Banana and toffee pie
- Chocolate bread/loaf
- Chocolate log
Have you got any cooking/baking goals?
