Christmas 2014

30th December 2014

MySpa cleansing brush

I had a wonderful Christmas at home this year, and I loved spending time with my friends and family. I was very fortunate to receive some wonderful gifts. Everyone was so thoughtful, and clearly put a lot of thought into each gift. My friends and family know me very well.

I’m never sure if people like reading posts like these. Personally, I enjoy looking at what people have been given for Christmas as it’s a great source of gift inspiration ready for next year. Also, I’m a nosey person!

My parents gave me some money to buy what ever I wanted with it, but they did get me some other little gifts. They also bought me a facial cleansing brush, like the Clarisonic but more affordable. I honestly don’t know why you’d pay £200 for a cleansing brush as the one I have (MySpa) works wonders. I’ve been using it for less than a week and I’m already seeing great results.

Map of the world umbrella

My brother Dean bought me another subscription to National Geographic Magazine for the year and gave me some iTunes gift cards. My brother Adam bought me this map of the world umbrella (everyone knows I like maps!). It’s also the perfect size to act as a walking stick when I need it. Clever. :P

Quadrophenia dressing gown

Tyrone spoilt me with lots of Who related treats, including a Quadrophenia parka style dressing gown, a picture disk vinyl of Who Are You and some Who coasters. He also gave me Mario Galaxy 2, a Lego Joker keyring and a necklace.

Sewing stuff

My friend Becky remember that I wanted to start sewing more, and she gave me a well stocked sewing box along with some fabrics and buttons. My mum also gave me a book which teaches you lots of different sewing techniques and includes some project ideas. Yesterday I purchased a mini sewing machine (my birthday present) so I’m all set to make something. Wish me luck.

Other gifts I received include a waffle maker, a mini Bat-Signal light, tonnes of Soap and Glory goodies and a few books from Paperchase. In fact, most of my presents are still back in Shropshire because I couldn’t carry everything on the train. I’m very grateful that my family has offered to bring up some of these presents when they visit the city next weekend.

If you celebrate Christmas, what did you receive? Feel free to leave me links to your Christmas posts in the comments.

  1. Very cute presents. I’ve received a lot of presents this Christmas too, hubby and the dog got presents too. Also, we had snow! Only a few cm of snow, on 26th, but enough to call it a white Christmas :)

    Happy new year!

We had a little bit of snow too, but thankfully it went pretty quickly. I think it looks beautiful when sitting inside and admiring it, but venturing out in it is not so great!

Happy new year to you too!!

  2. I want one of those facial brushes, too. I’m glad to hear yours is working well. And yeah, I don’t get why someone would spend a ton of money on one!

The Who is awesome, and that is a cool looking dressing gown, and umbrella.

I received money, and a few things here and there.

Oh wow, you got great presents. I love the map umbrella! Sadly, I don’t get many presents for Christmas now :( It seemed to taper off and stop the older I got and it makes me sad because I love Christmas and I love presents :P

I think I’m quite fortunate to have friends and family who continue to buy gifts even as I get older. I’m hoping it won’t change when I turn 21 next year.

I’m glad you had a great Christmas! You got so many thoughtful gifts! The facial cleaning brush sounds nice, and that’s good that it works well too. I love the umbrella your brother gave you! It’s cute and colorful :)

The parka looks really comfy, and that’s a nice set of sewing supplies. That’s awesome you bought a sewing machine! I think having one is so useful. I have one originally to make costumes, but it’s also nice to be able to patch and alter your own clothing :)

I got a lot of nerdy things, haha. I have a blog entry about my Christmas gifts too!

I love how colourful the umbrella is too. I always need a bit of colour on dull days.

I have a few ideas of what I would like to make with my sewing machine, but I think I need to make something basic first to familiarise myself with how it works. I haven’t used on in years!

  5. Such wonderful gifts! I hope you have an amazing New Year lovely! xo

  6. Your Christmas sounds wonderful! I love that map umbrella – very cute!

I mainly received books for Christmas this year; my family knows me too well. :P I think the one I am most excited to read is the King Raven trilogy, which is basically a Robin Hood retelling. I also got a couple movies, some DVDs, and some money for school. Nothing too exciting, but wonderful all the same. :)

I use to love receiving books for Christmas, but I suppose now I have a Kindle I have no need for them. But I still insist on having real copies of reference book like this sewing one. :P

  7. I love reading these posts because I’m nosey =p
The umbrella is amazing, as is the dressing gown, I thought it was a parka at first. The facial brushes look amazing, I’ve been looking at getting one. The gifts you received were so thoughtful! I mainly got Harry Potter things, which I’m very happy about.
Glad you had a great Christmas =]

Haha it does look so much like a real parka. I’d like to think I could get away with popping to the shops in it!
